Right just this isnt Karate this is in fact Muay Thai with Gis. Karate teaches the straightest way to defeat the enemy not brawling and Oyama was unsatisfied himself with the brawling brand but he also wanted to bring it to high society.

Can someone please explain the rules of this tournament? I see little to no punches to the head and yet knees are legal even to the face and hits to the back aren't even called

I just found this competition style of fighting. its stupid. you really think in an actual fight that someone isnt going to punch you in the face? wow. just footstomp then knee to face. everytime? probably.
