I can't remember. i was 13. It was horribly painful. I ate an entire freshly cut pineapple on empty stomach in 1 sitting. no more shingles. it was on cover of book i found after 5 hours of searching on dialup internet. so i had no instructions and i wasn't waiting to buy a book.

I'm only 14 and i got shingles pls lord save me it's really hurts

I’m 63 y/o and currently have shingles…started last Sunday as pain, numbness and tingling sensation on my right upper back, up my right shoulder, upper right arm posteriorly to my rt elbow, rt chest and arm pit…the rashes and blisters came out Thursday, then I realized I have shingles! I immediately booked an appt with my PCP who recommended I go to urgent care…I went to the ED instead! I’m on antivirals, Gabapentin, and Codeine. Pain is intense for me…I have a high pain tolerance but this is something else! One other thing, I have right occipital neuralgia too that I think was triggered by this stress brought on by shingles…I am now advising my friends to get the shingles vaccine …can’t wait to get better…

I am 46 too. I had shingles 2 weeks ago. I took the antiviral blue tablets for 7 days, it made a big difference. I still have this discomfort and pain in my left upper leg area that hurts like hell when I try to walk in my natural pace. I got to see my doctor tomorrow, hopefully can give me a pain reliever to go back to normal while I'm dealing with shingles. And I'll ask him when is the right time to get the vaccine.

I’m 41 and was just diagnosed today😢

Very informative. I just received my first shot yesterday, my arm was very sore and painful. Later in the day, I developed severe headache and body aches similar to flu symptoms. Hopefully, these symptoms will subside soon.

I'am now ten months after the shingles outbreak, and still use a few painkillers in the morning. Skin on my back is still sensitive during the day, so still some sever pain now and then. But things improving verry slow, so we hang on and hope for the best.

3 days of non-stop pains, can’t even sleep at night. First time I went to the doctor, they could not find anything wrong with me. Because the rash has not developed, two days later I went back, Pains got worse and rash develops. They finally found the problem, is shingles.

I currently have shingles (on my fanny); The pain was so bad that my husband took me to an ER. Oddly, the shingles themselves are not causing that much pain. My symptoms: Fever (100 - 102), severe pain and BURNING throughout my body, constant/massive headache. Pain is so bad in my back that I can't bend over. Dr prescribed Acyclovir. I'm a very spy 68-yr-old and I can honestly say I haven't suffered pain in my adult life as bad as the shingles. My heart goes out to anyone who has or is suffering from shingles!

I haven't been diagnosed but 99% sure I have it on my back, not as painful as others seem to have it though, and no fever. I'm 36. Was told it should go after 6 weeks.

@@iamthat7351 I would get it checked out ASAP. if they catch it within 72 hours, your doctor can prescribe anti-viral treatment to try to reverse the symptoms. I think mine didn’t catch it in time, but still taking the medication

33 years old and got Shingles from the mid back and wrapping around the Left side, breast, to the middle of my chest. The pain is excruciating. I have no underlying health issues. From what I’m seeing, age is just a number. This needs to be addressed to the medical insurance industry that the age limit needs to be changed if they even give a care. I wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone. I’m still dealing with the discomfort on the third week and it would be worse if I didn’t go back to the doctor’s to get prescribed Gabapentin…

I am at day 12 and it's worst then first week. I was luchy to see my pharmacist who obe day 1 gave me the blue pills. Here in Quebec we have to see a doctor who will confirmed diagnotic. She increased to 10 days as this extend from spine to exactly belley on a 5-6" zone. First week, I was very tired and I put cold white facecloth all over the area for 30 inutes oftenly. Now on day 12, my front body red vesicules is coming pink but back is dee0 red like 2nd degtee burn. I wish pain stop soon and my worst njghtmmare is that my dearest husband catch it. He stillll fight fromm a virus who attack his heart giving him a beat of 230 before dr. Choke him.. he was lucky paramedics were closed to home and ER staff and heart intensive care unit staff were Wow. He has a second choke by his defribilator 1 year ago on oct.9 2022. Sequels from that virus stiil there. I wish the heart virus and shingle virus goo away soon and allll goes well.. get welll to all

I have just found out, where your rash is painful, massage the exact opposite side of your body, the pain will go. It only takes 2 mins. Please pass this information on when ever you can.

Shingles is intense! 39 y/o and just hit with it. Sunday woke up with my left side of my neck, back, and arm extremely sore and tight. Followed by numbness and tingling later the same day. Monday noticed these rash patches which quickly turned into fluid filled blisters. On day 5 of blisters and my fingers feel like they are going to explode. They are still growing in size and pain. Just started the anti viral yesterday after getting misdiagnosed with contact dermatitis (poison ivy). I hope this ends soon. Stress was my igniter.

wow that would suck. i am around the same age as you and my shingles was misdiagnosed as a fungal infection. i have 4 "patches" of rash on my right arm, the largest patch is about 1 inch. they do not itch, do not hurt. i felt a little throbbing pain (like 1 of 10 on the pain scale) for just one day and the rashes resolved in 2 weeks. perhaps i got my antiviral early. i feel incredibly lucky after reading your story.

3rd time i have had shingles in 2 year and i get it on my head every time.

I’m 20 and had chicken pox during 8th grade and my rash now just started to bubble up on my shoulder blade area. I had a stabbing pain that felt like a inflamed pimple. When you say "72 hours within the onset of symptoms", do you mean 72 hours from the moment the rash physically appears? With shingles, mild symptoms present themselves up to 5 days before the rashes actually appear, e.g. mild irritation and numbness, which pretty much no one would call up their doc to examine.

@@raysmusic49 interesting, had the shingles about 2 months ago, then doctor put me in a treatment with Famciclovir 250mg twice a day for 3 months, unfortunately I'm in the second month and I got the shingles again, this is my 12 time having shingles, an is all because stress levels , The difference compare with all the others time is I don't have any pain, just the rush numbness so far, I was hopping to get better soon, so I can have the vaccine.

@@shanamamabear1226 the only thing that helps is prescription lidocaine… I’ve had it exactly 2 years.. pains not as intense but there… now and then the area where it started flares up.. ice packs helps… Vicadin is nice but my dr gave me 10 tablets last year…

11 years I had the shingles on my left bun the result was I lost the feeling in my whole left leg from the toes to the top of my butt so like 7 days ago I got the most worst pain in my leg my left leg I realized that I got feeling in that leg. It's like a big Charlie horse* 100 on the top of my thigh and around my hip how do I loosen up that muscle????

I am in my late 60's and never had chicken pox, but received a shingles vaccine 3 years ago based on the doctors recommendation. I am now the proud recipient of a mild case of shingles. Bottom line: apparently some people who receive the shingles vaccine do not become immune to the disease. Just sayin'. Sometimes I really wonder about the medical community. Did you not get the chicken pox vaccine then? I am 67 and had chicken pox when I was a toddler. I don’t even remember it.

Im 26 and got shingles for a weeks and a half now (2021) but luckily my doctor gave me an antiviral drug as soon as she saw what been going on with me. at first i thought its just an upset stomach and a very bad back pain coz my body really hurt bad. but when she checked and told me i had a rash, she immediately told me that i also need to take vitamins such as vitamin B complex to lessen the nerve damage. good thing is that now most of the pain is gone and now im in recovery and it didnt took me a month to get rid of the pain.. also, i didnt know if it helped in my recovery, but i used a sulfur soap and an sulfur with salycilic acid ointment. and it also lessened the pain and itching a bit. being clean on your body also helps and taking a cold bath twice a day.

Could one have shingles and not know? I had mild case of shingles and didn't know until I showed pictures of some rash that I had to my doctor previously about 6 weeks later.

I have been dealing with shingles for 13yrs. And breaking out at least every 3 months! Doctors can give me no answers as to why 😭😭

Me too started treatment a week later as i thougt it was hives. Just pain killers and calamine plus aciclovir. There is nothing more you can do. I hope your one is gone forever.

What should we eat, and avoid when experiencing an outbreak?

Shingles at 37 while battling the worst case of endometriosis disease that has been misdiagnosed for years and doctors have completely just looked at me like I've had 3 heads anytime I've tried to tell them what's been going on. Gynecologist, primary Care, you name it. I feel like I've been failed and abandoned by what's supposed to be medical professionalsand. After all the blood test I've done, all the pelvic transvaginal ultrasounds, pelvic scans and everything else you want to throw out there don't forget the UA's I just finally found out I have hypothyroidism which I already knew I had because I've always been a tiny girl and I put on so much weight in the last few months and it's just been an ongoing battle with my weight and I don't eat bad I'm very physical. I feel like I'm never going to get the help I need. I've been waiting on my doctor to reach back out to me just so I can get on my thyroid medication because I'm awaiting a surgery date for my very much needed hysterectomy. So with all the stress that my body has been under and every single month I lay in bed because of the endometriosis that takes me out of work takes my life away from me with heating pads on the front heating pads on the back doing everything I can possibly do to try and find some sort of comfort to get through the most horrible menstrual cycle a woman should never have to experience, it's no wonder I have shingles right now. My body's immune system has been trying to fight so many other things all at once and it has stressed out to the max and from what I'm reading I'm getting so much mixed communication about what I can eat what I can't eat what's going to cause the shingles to get worse one minute I read something that says the doctor's approved you to eat this and then I read another thing that says scientifically they found out the doctors were incorrect about that so my list of things I can eat is down to a minimum I'm literally dropping weight faster than someone that's anorexic. Nobody should ever have to go through all of this and nobody should ever have to go through as many years as it's taken me to get to where I'm at at 37 years old when I've been complaining about this now for over a decade. I get it take some times a lot of the wrong answers of trial and error to get to the right ones but the answer has been there the entire time they just wouldn't listen period no I'm not the one with the medical degree but I am the one that does listen to my body and I know my body and I know what I normally able to do and what I'm not. At 37 years old I should not be like a hermit in my room 9 to 17 days out of every single month dealing with what I'm dealing with because of this endometriosis. oh unless not forget the thyroid that I've been getting tested for for I don't even know how long now and I knew there was something wrong with my thyroid . Example in September recently I had blood work done for my thyroid by my primary care doctor period my primary care doctor said that my thyroid was borderline but not enough to be on medication. Fast forward a month and a half later at my gynecologist appointment trying to get my hysterectomy scheduled and my thyroid is over highly elevated and I need thyroid medication. I'm just so beside myself it's no wonder I'm suffering through this right now and it's very depressing and I'm breaking down as I try to say this right now because it is emotionally draining and stressful and it's probably not the best thing that I'm stressing out or crying about this now but I have shingles on my face all the way down the left side covering my entire left side of my scalp which is where it started. I thought it was just dandruff it first and it started out as the front of the left side of my forehead just feeling tender and then my left eyebrow started to swell but was no change of color to my skin yet then my eyeball started to hurt just the whole eyeball, within a matter of 2 days after having my 15-year-old look at the top of my head for me I ended up with it all over the side of my face and I literally ended up in the hospital having to get Acyclovir & steroids & everything else you can think of oh let's not forget the die in the eye and the ultraviolet light because then they found them in my left eyeball period but I went to a specialist that day and he says that they're not in my eyeball but I feel them there. now I feel like I'm going to have to go back to the ER and subject myself of being around covid people while my immune system is at its lowest hoping I don't lose my eyesight or my hearing because of this. To anyone out there who's dealing with this, I feel for you and you are so not alone😭

Hi sister I’m praying for you that reading this five months later that you have found some comfort some relief from pain in your life is even the slightest bit better I feel in my heart deeply for you for your pain for many years now I’ve been going through fibromyalgia PCOS Sjogren’s autoimmune disorder intense chronic migraines that are daily I’ve had to abandon my career and my job lost all my friends many days just lie in bed unable to get up and cry I was just diagnosed with shingles today I’m only 43 Plus was born blind in the left eye and limited eyesight in the other. Trying to empathize with you I feel for you so badly because the pain that I’ve been feeling has been excruciating in addition to my normal pain they called my case quickly and I’m praying that taking the meds right away well help get me over this virus quickly. I’ve been quarantining throughout COVID because literally every time I go out of the house something happens to me sending love light and prayers to you

My doctor miss diagnosed my shingles rash for bed bug bites and I didn't get treatment for a week later, when I went to a mentally competent doctor at the emergency room. Although the receptionist diagnosed me with shingles when she seen the rash. Over 65-year-old man sees a doctor with a painful rash you would think the doctor would know that it was shingles. I didn't know but the doctor should know more than me. I'm pissed that I didn't get diagnosed earlier. Now I may have permanent nerve damage. What really amazes me is I called several dermatologists and it would take weeks or even months to get in to see one. By that time shingles would have been all over my body. The healthcare system in the United States sucks. And the doctors are even worse.

Hope she gets better and builds her immune system. Have you considered of giving her a vaccine? it can still work even after the fact that she's had shingles. Consult with your GP and all the best.

Most the time they won't recommend it for children. (Speaking from experience) So, best consult your daughter's doctor before going for it. Recommend having moisturizing lotion for when the weather is hot. Try to be gentle with the infected area (when inactive) and keep her away from other people with threats of chickenpox or the vaccine in either for 72 hours cause it can reawaken Shingles.

A client I had (who passed a decade ago), broke out w shingles on his eye. The primary was concerned w a secondary infection due to rubbing and prescribed eye drops. The rash cleared in about three weeks-but the pain raged on for about a year. The man had osteoarthritis but was not on steroids. He did have other underlying disease conditions, such as DMII. I think he was subsequently prescribed Neurontin. The horrible thing was it always seemed to 'attack' at bedtime-this would interfere w rest and cause a domino effect on the other conditions. It was miserable! The commercial is calling it, "Shingles doesn't care!" I started my vacs.

Appreciate video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you tried - Taparton Incredible Cure Takeover (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is an awesome one off product for Curing Shingles minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my cousin got cool success with it.

Why I have I not heard anything about Preherpetic neuralgia? I suffered with excruciating pain while rash was coming out..

The second shingles shot knocked me on my ssa for a few days! Just be prepared!

I have come down with it on my right side head face and eye. When the prickling sensation started in my scalp I thought it was a trigeminal neuralgia episode I was having and which I suffer with (bilateral). But today I woke up with the rash on my scalp and it has quickly gone to my face and eye. The pain is extreme. I also have an autoimmune disease and supposed to be going on a biologic soon as the other immunosuppressants mentioned by this doctor haven’t worked.

Three days ago I was diagnosed with Shingles. Fun fact: I’ve never had chicken pox. Healthy, not on any of the drugs mentioned, haven’t even had a cold in over 10 years. And, it’s on my butt. Luckily it’s been very mild so far but the sciatic nerve is very tingly. As far as precursors, yep, but who knew?? Looking forward to this chapter being over and done with. BTW, why is the Zalacyclovir so damn huge??? The first few pills I had to chew 🥴 then I started chopping them up and putting the pieces in an empty capsule. Grateful the drug is available but come on.

@Asherah 1147, why so much hate?? Just telling my story. Now that it’s over and done with, I can say that my outbreak was very very mild compared to the horror stories I’ve heard. I’ll chalk that up to my immune system. One month to the day I got my energy back and had very few blisters. No, I didn’t check to see if I could chop up the medication but that was only way I could ingest it. When I said the blisters were on my butt, they were actually on my lower back atop the gluteus maximus. I do not and did not have an STD if that’s your accusation. I completely understand how the chicken pox virus works, lying dormant, but I did not have chicken pox. That’s why it’s a ‘fun fact’. Doctors and researchers do not know everything. The last 18 months of bull sh!t that has been and is being spewed by rat bastard garden gnome Fauci (and crew) is proof just because someone has Dr. in front of their name does not mean they are god.

You had chicken pox as a child. You cannot get shingles without having a previous chicken pox infection.

@@phanaticz I know that’s the common theory. My mother, nor I, nor my doctor has any recollection or record of me having chicken pox. If I came in contact with someone (unknowingly) who was in the midst of a breakout, would I be susceptible to catching CP/or shingles???

We're you vaccinated against chicken pox? Because that was a live vaccine. That's the only explanation then.

28 y.o. with shingles here. Never got chickenpox as a kid, i got a vaccine. My booster shot is scheduled for my 30th birthday. I lost my house in 2020 to forest fire and the stress from being homeless but also reconstructing our property was enough to trigger shingles. This stuff is NASTY MEAN!

I was diagnosed yesterday aug 1 2019 with Shingles l, On my upper left side of face, around the eye, the brow, lid and left side forehead. Now its below the eye, eye is now swollen shut. Throughout the day i been getting pain not only in eye but left ear, left nostril, left side of jaw, left side of teeth upper and lower.. in the past couple hours im getting extreme pain in neck (no pun intended hehe) Im feeling big lumps and pain on crown of my head. Im getting Cramping stomach pain . All day i keep getting waves of feeling like im going to throw up but haven't. The blast of pain going through eye is very painful. I have a fairly high threshold for pain so i rate it about 7 possibly 8 out of 10. Years ago I had a Cesarean "C" section and a Tubal Ligation immediately afterward WITHOUT any FREEZING so i know what REAL PAIN feels like. (sorry if i made spelling errors) I don't know if im just being paranoid but i keep feeling these little itch spots on different parts of my body all day . Im so weak and tired but its hard to get real sleep because every time I move i wake in pain. I may go back to ER, this is feeling like it may be more than the typical SHINGLES virus that i been watching and listening to on KZread and the ER doc described to me. This would not surprise me in the least. I ALWAYS seem to get the RAREST diseases and the worst possible ailments. Hahaha eeeek!!!! EXAMPLE: I have ( RP) Retinitis Pigmentosa, the RAREST form of this eye disease that has left me legally blind and partially deaf in both ears., I had a Massive Heart Attack, not just a mild or major heart attack, then i was diagnosed with some RARE Foot Disease and the list goes on and on hahaha

Seek out Prolozone therapy. Not many doctors perform this so keep due diligence searching and you may have to travel to get treatment. Plenty of videos online of and about prolozone therapy. You shouldnt need meds or pain killers if you get this done and keep maintenance. Science has shown long time PHN pain is low grade herpes infection that is active. The system will fuck you, stay away from it and their circus clown doctors and save yourself years of misery which is a huge understatement.

@@Louclark54 believe it or not I still feel it at times, can be somewhat painful and itchy. I'm no longer in pain medication for it. When it bother me whixh is most days, i find putting polisporin cream on, a dose in the morning and another at bed time. I hope this is not going to continue the rest of my life. The most irritated area is under my eyebrow. Mar 30 2021

I had them in aug 2019 on the left side of my face , eye and head. Today feb 10 2021 i still have sore spots and scars on face from the shingles

I'm pretty sure I've gotten it behind my ear and on the neck. Hell I'm pissed now because the doctor booked me in for an appointment on tuesday next week when I called on friday. So there goes the early treatment option

Winner of a video, I been tryin to find out about "cures for shingles pain" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Xanaleb Deniden Blueprint - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my cousin got great results with it.

Good advice! To go to a good walk in clinic asap. Any good Doc. Would fit you in. A good Doctor will give meds for pain and lidocane patches. Also sold in drug stores. Ask the pharm.

Occasionally we do need trust with a great sense of humour to get things accomplished, l have never been convinced there would be a way to eradicate herpes, Thanks for curing me DoctorOrias and putting hope into my life Thank you ...

hello .. i discovered by experiment w/my own body - havi.g read alot of comments also: milk & milk products plus sweet things REALLY cause the symptoms to flare-up & stay going on&on. when i stopped those foods it went in2 remission. &blisters healed/disappeared in t days. looked like pizza/hell while active the pain also subsided w/in a day

yeahhh now I recovered. you really need to see a doctor to take antiviral. It is costly but it reduces the lifespan of the virus. I am still looking for medicine the scars it left.

I’m 36 and currently have a horrible case of shingles. I am immunocompromised and I was down with a bad cold, multiple Covid tests negative (and I had Covid in the summer and I’m vaccinated) so then shingles took advantage of my decreased immune function even more than I was already immunocompromised. Just got back from the doctor. I'm 46 and just diagnosed with shingles. 😩 Doctor told me it was probably related to stress. My grandmother passed away about 2 weeks ago, definitely stress related to all our recent travel with our kid's travel lacrosse during tournament season for the last 8 weeks and stress of Thanksgiving at in-laws.

I believe stress has brought on my shingles as well. Death in the family plus some difficulties.

I was diagnosed, 77 years old Vet, with shingles just yesterday. I had a the vaccine on my last exam about 4 months ago. You don’t want it. I’m taking g medication for pain and infection at present. It’s no picnic.

I got it for the first time this week only 24

I have this right now and Im only 21.

39 years old….. got the J&J COVID-19 vaccine on 30 Apr. 30 May, exactly 30 days later I get shingles. This pain is unreal. Almost 2 weeks in and the pain hasn’t lessened.

Thanks I’m taking 300mg gabapentin every six hours...a sack of bean bag heated in the microwave helps a lot!! Stay in touch....

april I just had this. Stress can trigger this. Mine is at the back, right side. Good thing its not in my face. I took Zovirax for the virus, plus a topical Zovirax. Then PHN occur or PHI, ( could be pain or itch) i am taking pregabalin and Keltican for this. Once a day. Now im back in my daily grind. Im good!

38, got them. Rash pretty bad, but so far the pain is not high about 7 days on. Back spasms making it difficult to sleep, though.
