shinee's music doesn't fit into a certain genre, people are sometimes are confused or overwhelmed with their music on first listen but they do great music and i don't trust people who say they dislike shinee.

Do you mean dislike them or dislike their music?? There’s no reason for people to dislike them as they’re just people but I’m pretty sure anyone has a right to dislike their music if they like...people enjoy different things and that’s ok

So the thing about SHINee is that whenever they come out with a new album, whatever concept or major sound influence they use for the album will be used by other groups for the rest of the year. When SHINee did deep house the rest of kpop did deep house, SHINee did r&b the rest of kpop did R&B, SHINee did a retro theme the rest of kpop did retro. Every single time without fail SHINee has started the trends you’ll see in kpop for the next year. During the last 3 years they’ve been on hiatus kpop had the opportunity to kinda mold itself into a genre where the groups in this gen all make super similar types of music instead of the varying styles from 2nd gen groups like shinee. This time SHINee saw that and decided to emulate the signature sound of the 4th gen of kpop and they KILLED IT. The rest of the album is normal SHINee, but this song in particular appealed to the 4th gen stans. Super cool concept!

@@seiwei oh definitely! I was getting overdose vibes the whole time and I loved it. For me it was more of a half Exo half standard 4th gen track. Super not SHINee, but they did a great job with it.

I mean yeah it kinda like exo and nct song but SHINee NEVER doing these kind of song which makes them SHINee because SHINee will try every concept! They didn't stick into 1 concept, you can watch their music since debut til now and no one overlapped with the other So the un-SHINeeness is what makes them SHINee, they stick to their experimental type.

I love Shinee because they take risks. I won’t always agree with all they do, but that is why I like them. They do their own thing. This is a comeback that was needed this year.

They were on hiatus from 2018 till now due to three of the members doing their mandatory military service. Taemin is next to enlist either this year or next, and we will be waiting another 18 months or so....if he doesn't destroy the military with his magic hands and love of guns and all things that go BOOM! I worry about that boy.... I see you're curious about the chairs floating....SHINee did another MV that had very similar effects called, "Get the Treasure". It's Japanese and an awesome MV. There is also a behind the scenes video for it on YT and you get glimpses of how they did it...without a green screen.

Taemin will be fine remember he's 28 and has most likely mentality prepared for the army so he can cope plus the isn't hell a lot of popular celebrities in Korea say the military thought them something new also the military kinda gives them a break from the fans and all the media ect.

Thank you so much for all the info. I've heard of SHINee but i never checked it out until 2 days ago when I heard "Don't Call Me" and saw their K-Profiles and learned they are from the 2nd generation and that they have lost their main vocalist which I know he'll be proud of them for still going but I know for alot of the fans that SHINee will always be 5. So far I've been able to tell the 4 remaining members apart. But I'm still gonna go ahead and start my SHINee journey.

Came for the title track, stayed for the b tracks. Thats how SHINee gets you.

Yes it was a extremely hard time for kpop industry & fans especially SHINee members which they morned his death for awhile then made a comeback dedicated to their lost member and their 13 year brotherhood as a group; it’s still hard for some of us knowing Jonghyun no longer alive but his powerful presence still lives within his brothers (members) and fans which helps us continue to love & support our guys. Regarding their long absence the three older members where in the military and Taemin was working on solo projects until he made his 3rd debuted with #SuperM

those were actually real chairs on the set they were hanging from the ceiling thats why they look like the chairs were actually floating and everything comes down to editing so that it looks realistic

Yes finally SHINee's back!! After almost 3 years!! The reason why they weren't active after 2018 is because 3 of the members went on to do their military service. And yes the title track is very different from the rest of the album, I think you'll enjoy the b-sides for sure!

You should do a search of their live performance of this. Their mics were 100% up & on while they did the full dance, and it really just gives you a flavor of how good they are at performance.

The thing with this song is that it’s very 2nd gen kpop, which is probably intentional since it’s their first comeback since most of the members came back from the military. So this song is catered to their old fans in order to tell them “Shinee’s back”!

Shinee is literally one of the favourite groups in korea. Sadly one of their members passed away in 2017 they came back together after a few months, however the older members onew, Minho and Key had to enlist in the military for their mandatory service for about 2 years and that was when Taemin focused on his solo career and Super M. Now shinee is back and will always be 5 because I believe Jonhyung is always with them

Same! I love the boys and I’ve been a Shawol for about 6 years now but don’t call is not for me. They’re capable of something much more and we all know it. But it’s not their fault, sm has always been biased against them and preferred other groups but SHINee have always risen coz of their own talent. The rest of this album is a damn bop though..

I think you would really like just about anything from their SWC V in Seoul concert. There are lots of videos on KZread. My personal favorites include Juliet, Why So Serious and Chocolate. But honestly, all of their concerts are outstanding. Shinee is the best. They set the standard for what an idol group is supposed to be. It's funny to see younger idols practically pee their pants when Shinee walks onto a stage or set.

SHINee always comes out with a new style and concept, they don't re-do a concept twice. This time they went for a more strong hip-hop style they didn't try b4. Don't Call Me is a song that takes a couple of listens to get used to but once you do you'll start to appreciate it. The rest of the album is insanely good so I hope you'll enjoy it.
