Just for the people confused about naming conventions, The Japanese company Kioritz originally marketed their equipment under the Echo brand in the US and other overseas places as they though the Japanese name was too "foreign", the name Echo eventually became standardised even being used in Japan. Shindaiwa was a rival Japanese manufacturer that also made chainsaws amongst other things, in 2008 the two companies merged to become Yamabiko corporation. Since then all echo / kioritz / shindaiwa products belong to the same parent company. You'd need to check the parts books to see what parts are shared between similar echo / shindawa current models as I am unfamiliar. Some of the older Shindaiwa saws like the smaller 377 (37cc) and the larger 757 (75cc) were great workhorses that could take a hell of a beating.

Good evening friends I have to gasoline chainsaw SHINDAIWA 251TCS and when the chain is idling, does the bell ring or should I lower the idle so that the chain does not turn?thanks

Chain shouldnt move while idling. Idle speed is usually about 3000rpm. If you get yourself revcounter you can adjust it better. Otherwise if chain still moves at idle. There is something broke in clutch. Usually a clutch spring

Oh look, it's a bunch of echo saws with shindaiwa stickers on them!!! Give me a break. Do these companies think people are so stupid, that they wouldn't be able to tell they are the same saw? Unbelievable!!!

Shindaiwa is the parent company. Echo has more name recognition. I own one of each and would happily buy another.

They are both VERY well known brands overall. So why loose customers Mr give me a break haha. Most of Russia use Shindawa as they operate so well in the cold. US know Echo. One brought the other. Echo focus on technical stuff, Shindawa has a legendary engine. Japanese made. Most others incl Stihl are Chinese made. They all cut wood well, so go for the best price deal.

@@josephcollins3447 When you said about Shindaiwa's Legendary Engine, im sure you meant Tanaka or Kioritz? Kioritz was Echo's name back in the 80's and even way before. Tanaka, now known as Hitachi, also made a great two stroke for numerous years. Echo and Shindaiwa are exactly the same, they both are the same machine, just different stickers
