    iirc I've seen a video where you shim spur first then just adjust motor height for bevel to pinion, what happened to that?

    Never shim spur first. Always bevel first.

    @@FuturesAnalytica Doesn't matter. There is many ways of doing things. Ofc for the crowd its always better to do bevel first.

    That's untrue. It doesn't make sense to shim it in any other order. Starting from middle and going outwards means you have to guess where to put shims on spur. Thats like zeroing hop on 0.2g bbs when you;'re trying to shoot 0.32@@louhis7158

    @@louhis7158 shimming spur first works for brushed motors and low stress builds because you can always readjust motor height by listening to gear noise. Shimming bevel first for brushless dmr or 26-28tpa dsg is the way to go because you don't want your super strong motor to eat at your gears while you're trying to listen for gear noise that spins so fast its difficult to tell
