Located 50 kilometres away from Bogota and 200 meters underground, the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirà receives thousands of visitors every day. Originally a salt mine, this architecture provided the altar where the families of miners would gather and pray.
A seasoned veteran Manuel Forero was one of the 127 miners who helped sculpt the cathedral. Today, he is proudly in charge of maintaining the architecture that is now recognized as Colombia’s first wonder by the citizens.
