Thanks for this video mate, and the info about its elbow to put some grease on it, and make me decide to take vanquish 16 2500hgs.

shimano maintenance tips for spinning reels says you should lube the bearings with oil. The bearings are not fully closed. They got a metal plate that covers for dust, but fluids will go in. Fully sealed bearings got rubber/plastic covers.

Hi, great video. Quick question, where you got that case for reels and maintenance equipment? Thanks

Hello, why did you choose vanquish 2500 model instead of 2000 for ultralight ? Do you disassemble the reel for lubing elbows and roller ?

From the first view the difference in weigh (taking into account weight of the rod) is rather significant - 40g as I remember. But at the same time balance with Stella also looks nice I would say. And also the Japanese guys from Yamaga use 76TZ with Stella in their video. I just think if I am really need to spend money for Vanquish having Stella :)

Sorry. One more question. If we speak only about using of cranks from 2 to 6 gr. on rather hard stream than can be Stella a better choice (for the long term) than Vanquish or it does not matter?

Hi, i had one & sold it after short time of usage. Its not a bad reel, but it's loud & not so smooth. In fact vanquish16 feels much much better than older model.

y bbeejk it will depend on what pound line you get and what rod you get. Lighter line casts much further and light and bendy rods cast further also.

What do you think about Twin Power 2016 lets say 5SE53H042. Which is the best from this shimano reels for biggest Meeps #5+ with a large drag/resistance in the water?!

  • @ModestasD

To be honest 2011 Twin Power i liked more, it felt indestructible. New Twin Power is lighter & at the same time weaker. After few fishing's roller bearing stuck, had to clean it & i did not like the noise of the real, only after few fishing's!. Can't say that it is a bad real, but my experience was negative. About water resistance - shimano mainly are good in this criterion. Need more power - look for older models, bigger size reels for example Biomaster11 4000 or Twinpower11 4000. If it is not possible - new Twin or Stella:)

Modestas D 2011 versions are very(!) hard to buy. I found a review that 2015 (i dont know how 2016) twin power is closer to stradic than stella! this is crazy but it's probably true. Maybe SW versions? hmm. I don't know about stella is so overpriced to me, maybe im wrong... so this STL3000HGFI or that STL4000XGFI as i checked now, you think is totally worth?! (as i see is about 260g so its can be for very big pikes or trout cus is kind of light - more universal reel) I'm guessing that pull in water Big size Mepps lures is like nothing to reel like that?!

2015 & 2016 Twin is the same reel. I do not agree that new Twin is close to stradic, but yes it is not the old good Twin :( SW versions could be a good decision but but they are heaver & more massive. Stella worth or not its too difficult question:) For me - yes, for some one else maybe not. If you have some knowledge how to maintenance the reel, Stella could be the best choice for you, i am talking about not less than 4000size, just chose best reel gear speed...

It's difficult to compare Daiwa & Shimano. Exist15 feels nice, but i can't keep reel for my self & be dependent from Daiwa because i cant do maintenance by my self. Exist is lighter & smoother but not so long-life...

The pinion gear? It's always made out of some sort of metal, it can't be plastic. You must've gotten a faulty reel if it broke!
