I have the same exact reel paired with a A 7ft Legend Inshore.. put 12lb p-line cx Preminum on it and I pulled in 10-12 pound striper over the weekend with it like a dream..

I already own the 19' 2500s and the c3000mhg so I didn't get the 23' in the 3000 size. I did buy the 23' Vanquish c2000s and c2000shg to match with my 19' c2000s and c2000shg and the only downside with the 23' is the inertia isn't quite a free floating feeling as the 19' model, otherwise everything else is improved. The line lay, line management and casting is flawless on the 23' model.

That's good information to hear. Definitely looking to use my 23 Vanquish here soon. Just waiting for a rod to get done for it.

@@raidersuckkok What I meant to say is that across the board the 19' model is easier to turn than the 23' model's. I think Shimano did something with the gearing on the 23' to make it stronger but not quite as free floating as the 19'. It's still a hell of a reel though.

@@philipfalco7304 ah yeah, they did change it. I believe it's something they did to make the slow oscillation of the spool.

Not sure. But I know with Cortland line 10lb I get roughly almost 200 yards. But I used a piece of tape vs using backing

How many yards of 10lb test mono would this model carry?

Typical Shimano 3000 spool about 200 to 220 yards depending if you use backing or how much backing you use.

I love my Stella. The Vanquish is too light. My rods end up being tip heavy balance wise unless its a 4000 Vanquish on my new NRX+ Inshore that just came out.

Just bought c3000mhg and when i hold the rotor and move / wiggle the reel arm it has play. Loose with the gear it feels like. My stellas have a tad bit but not as much as this. Do you have this issue?

No , nothing like that. Unfortunately with anything that's manufactured some reels can get past the last inspection before shipment. My Stella FJs are solid as well. I'm gonna be doing a update video on this reel here shortly.

Could you hold the roto and wiggle the handle to show how much movement there is. I have 3 stella fks and they all have a slight movement but the vanquish is a bit more like twice as much. I assumed due to the lighter build
