Hands down I prefer the FD just got one

Nice video bud. Nailed everything on the head. just so you know the FD came out In 2020 and XD came out in 2021. Which means we should see a new twin power ( FE ) in 2024. 💪🏼🔥 Also , bull Bay I believe has Sniper 5-10 should definitely check that out if throwing really small baits. That more limber rod will help you Toss them further and easier. Especially if using 5 to 8lb braid

Just seen this video. I don’t have an XD but I do have the SW and FD twin power. I fish the north east for striped bass. For me the best, is going to be the FD because it was developed in mind with catching the biggest football sized tuna you could on a compact reel.

Max Drag 2500 shows 9kg 2500SHG shows 4kg... other than some gear ratio and capacity can anyone tell me which reel for trout trolling / casting.

@@GregClaud yes I’d say it’s actually better than the Saragosa. Depends on what weight of a reel you want though. The Saragosa 5k is going to be much bigger and heavier than a twin power fd 5k. I had a Saragosa before but ended up selling it. Great reel, but feels super heavy and bulky. I’d prefer personally to throw around a lighter, better built reel like the twin power fd than the gosa. They actually call the twin power fd the “baby Stella” too because of the similarities of the Stella sw and twin power fd

Twin power XD for sure you want the lightest possible reel for Spanish mackerel. Jigging all day can get tiering. I personally use the Vanford for Spanish i hate the feel of the vanford feels too much like plastic but i cant complain cause its so light it.

Which of them XD or FD you suggest for saltwater fishing using top water Lures and minnows? For seabass fishing?

For those things, I mention in the video that I believe the twin power fd I’ll be best! I will have my buddy who fishes the twin powers everyday in salt water comment what he thinks tho!

@@gb_luring you can use any reel in saltwater. Majority of Shimano reels are technically classified as "freshwater" if you go look them up. Technically both the XD and FD are classified as " Freshwater " but they are built with SOME saltwater components. The Shimanos that are really " saltwater " are the SW series ( SW = saltwater ) The " Trick " to any reel rather it's " freshwater " or " saltwater " you have to do basic maintenance if not no matter which is they both will corrode and rust. As long as you rinse them off with freshwater after use , shake off the excess water , air dry for a few hours and then rub them down with some clenzoil they will last a lifetime. Christian pretty much nailed everything on the head in this video. Having both these reels as well and I personally don't know how sea bass fight but if they are a heavier hitter let's say like a stripper and they will scream a lot of drag and bull dog a lot I'd definitely go with the FD as well. The XD will handle it , but it be more comfortable having that hagane body and that acr spool.

@@gb_luring You're Welcome. Yeah technically the XD is a finesse reel but I use it for just about everything at times. I do a lot of wade fishing so I have the option to take multiple combos with me. So I make sure I get reels that can do anything and handle some hard fights from time to time. Been using Shimanos 18 years now and their reels have never disappointed me yet.

2024 is out soon. Wonder how these compare to 24’ model

I have no experience with either yet, but did just receive the new 2024 twin power in the mail last week. I have a buddy with both and he said hands down twin power is better.

For big stripers in fresh water, what's your preference ? . Big swimming plugs and lures no live bait. I'm debating on a slammer 4, twin power or a saltiga. Trouble with saltiga is they're all in japan and all beat to shit. Very hard to find a clean one. I don't want a new one, I'm looking for an older one

I don’t use copolymer on spinning reels. All spinning reels I use braid to a leader. But I have found vicious line to be great. There is vicious copolymer line which I use for some top water baits for casting Rees
