Shimano 7800.
I believe this groupset is the best Groupset for Quality that Shimano ever made.Even now the gear change is light & smooth & the braking is up to disc brake standards.After this Groupset Shimano went to the black & Grey colour we see nowdays & the Quality of the materials wasn't so good.

I'm still riding on a full 7800 group, on my steel race bike. 53x39, with a 12-25 10 speed cassette. Still using Look Delta pedals on all my bikes. I love the chainrings on the 7800 cranks.

NOS 46 and 50t rings are available, got 2 bikes with 50 and 2 with 46

I couldn't agree more, & BTW very nice looking bike, tell us about the frame Mark. 2004-2008, the 7800 & 6600 are the best there was, but don't overlook its predecessor either, the 9spd 7700 & 6500 either, its excellent. I run both. I don't have a car, instead I choose a very fine collection of bicycles.
