Lhasa Apso!! I have shared my life with 3 Lhasas. I have never felt safer!! No one or thing gets around me when I sleep, and as long as you have a 'password', they will welcome guests!! Stubborn..yes. But highly trainable, with absolutely adorable personalities!! LHASAS RULE!!!

I adopted a puppy and was told its a Shih Tzu. He was then 4 months old, but surprisingly big in size. I named him Maximus due to his size. As it grew, I start to realized obvious differences. I used to have a Shih Tzu for 14 years, and Maximus kinda outgrew any standard Shih Tzu size. It also has smaller eyes, longer body and the most obvious is his bark, which is really loud. And also it's very protective behaviour. Only then I start to find out about a dog breed name Lhasa Apso. Now I need to rest my thoughts, not treating Maximus like a Shih Tzu.

I love both breeds and have both. Two Lhasa Apso’s, a male (14 yrs old) and a 13.5 yr old female who we just had to put down because of liver failure. Our hearts are broken. There will never be another one like our littlest Maggie. She was so unique and thought she was human and should be treated as such. Both were very easy to train as well. We also have a male Shih Tzu who is about 9 or 10 yrs old. We are getting an 8 wk old female Shih Tzu puppy next week. I do love both breeds but the Lhasa Apso will always have a very special place in my heart.

I can absolutely relate. I had both until this past weekend. Piper our Lhasa was so sweet like a teddy bear. They are both loving breeds.

I have my own Lhasa apso and I will say they can be very stubborn when it comes to getting their own way but if you just hold firm in whatever it is you’re training them in, and be assertive and sure, they do train really well. He learned to sit very quickly (within a few days) and is very intelligent, but it’s because of this intelligence that he can manipulate people very easily.

He is also definitely a brilliant guard dog, but he is incredibly warm towards our family and friends, and it’s so lovely to see his little curly tail going mad

I have a 2 year old Lhasa Apso❤️ . Her name is Izzy💕 . I love her so much && she’s my most favorite thing in the world . She’s so sweet, playful, protective && more (also stubborn when she wants to be lol) , she’s my fur baby angel with her pretty , spoiled butt lol !

I had a Lhapso born on MY BIRTHDAY.Named her MITU. Lived 15 yrs. Great protector, companion & personality +. Hope 2 find another soon.

We had a male Lhasa Also for 16 years. We called him Jenni and he was the smartest dog learning all kind of tricks. Wonderful security dog who could hear a car turning on to our driveway. He is sadly missed but left wonderful memories.

I have both, a 14 year old Lhasa Apso (male) Jack and a rescued older Shih Tzu (female)Coco Puff. They are both absolutely amazing, unconditional loving dogs! I had to put my female Coco down last year. She was literally a little human. I miss her so much.

My best Gal Pal thinks that her Shih Tzu is a best choice she could have every made. She has two girls. However, I want a dog that is a bit more of a protective guardian with a voice that’s isn’t so squeaky. That’s why I think I’m going to go with the Lhasa Opso. They are both SO adorable, though!!

During 15 years i 've got Lhassa Apso male name BOUDDHA, was so nice and funny but jealous, then the other dog approach me, apart from that is caracter was so nice!!!Never forget HIM, often i cry because i MISS HIM SO MUCH, now he is in Dog's Paradise.FOREVER IN MY HEART, ALWAYS BY MY SIDE.One day i'll have another LHASSA APSO, BUT NOT NOW.PLEASE, BE NICE WITH YOUR DOG(S) AND RESPECT HIM...DONT FORGET TO GO TO VETERINARY.HAVE A GOOD YEAR 2021 PEOPLE WHO LOVE ANIMALS, ALL OF YOU.

I have a Shih Apso and she is such a darling yet at the same time, she is an excellent watchdog.

I have a lhasa Apso, she is loud and protective and really unfriendly with strangers. But she loves children and once she has met someone she never forgets them. I've had no trouble training her as she is very food motivated, so treats work a treat. Yes she can be stubborn, especially when I'm trying to get her to do her bedtime toilet in the garden! But she keeps me warm in bed and is never far away from her family.

Lhasa apso are more calm and easier to train 😍

I have a full breed Shih Tzu and a half Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu. The half puppy is much more energetic, playful, loud with barking. Both are so lovable! Our half puppy is our wild child, for sure but we love him. Our full breed Shih Tzu constantly aims to please, and as video states, will sleep a lot. He’s super sweet! ❤️

I love my Lhasa apso she was professionally trained before I got her so she's a very easy dog. She will do anything I asked her to do she dances all the time I can't stop her she's beautiful!. I do love all dogs but I have to say the Lhasa is the favourite for me. Thank you for all the information it was very interesting.

My baby is a mix; having a shih Tzu mother and a miniature poodle father. She is a wonder dog for our little household which consists of my husband and myself with a couple of kids dropping by now and then. We are retired and she is a perfect pet for us.

my lhasa was like 25lbs and a cranky butt very nippy love and miss her also had love/hate relationship. shih tzu are more gentle very sweet clingy i love that in dogs like cuddle time all the time. lhasa's are very stubborn

I already have lasha apso(his name is Leo, 7years old) and i love this breed

I have a 3/4 lhasa female and she is absolutely gorgeous, gentle, intelligent, I also have an 8 month old pure Lhasa male who is incredibly hard work, just doesn't listen, very stubborn although he does have a very friendly nature.

I have a lasa cross shih tzu and a pure lasa I think there both the best

i think tey are both beautiful. i have a lhasa and she is so funny and cheeky but when night time comes she prowls around the home and barks at anything...i never had a shih so i dont know which id prefer all i can say is i have loved having my little lhasa

I have 2 Lhasa’s they are very sassy and greedy but really loving funny dogs 💕

I recently had a Shih tzu and he is my greatest investment, he is so good 😊 for my mental health, I feel so proud to be his mum. All dogs 🐕 are great but Shih tzu all the way.

Do they shed hair

Shih Tzu can also be very athletic and tough.

My dog has both so i still don't know. I was told shihtzu but she has hair that parts and has black on her ears and beard. She has an under bite flat face big round bug eyes. She must be mixed with both.
