We used to have a Shih Tzu named Butter, and her tantrums would start with shaking her collar, followed by a quiet sneeze, then a loud sneeze, then growling, then a quiet bark, and eventually loud barking. It was almost always because she wanted treats or attention. We sure miss her, she passed in January 2021.

Sean I known how you feel lost both my boys one in October of 2021 his bother in November of 2021. Vet said Maxi died of a bad heart condition and his brother Hershey died of a broken heart...he just missed his brother. I miss them both breaks my heart and I struggle everyday without them.

A doggie toilet can also be a canalized shower tray/shower base. Dogs should never use a human toilet, because it is dangerous for them, not only difficult. Respect all Dog's needs ! Remember that a dog feels like a person - suffering, pain, the need to relieve itself, it needs to go out and get fresh air and movement. It needs to be able to move at home and outside, and be safe. I think you're right. Most of what you mention sounds obvious. A few things I'm still figouring out. I tried to make a litter box, in a large bathroom where was plenty of space and fresh air. I added daily fresh natural things, grass etc. I thought if he needs it in his old age, he will at least sniff because in general he was curious to try really anything. But this was no success. Probably he understood the idea of the litter box but refused to give it attention, not even sniffed once. He looked insulted. Though I think they must have a kind of litter box, for their health and to not have heartstress all the time waiting and not knowing... What a horror. There's so much to learn and to understand. Thank you for your consideration and help to make their lives more acceptable.
