Shift Tube Bushing Replacement Ford Ranger

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I go over the process of replacing the shift tube bushings on an 04 Ford Ranger. While the vehicle featured in the video is an 04 Ranger this process may be the same for the ranger for several model year Rangers. (Alway verify using a repair manual.) This procedure may also be similar for other models of Ford vehicles equipped with this style shift tube.
Note: Be sure the vehicle is not running and that the parking brake is applied. It is recommended to disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery and to isolate it from the battery. It is best do shift the vehicle into neutral before beginning.
Note: In order to properly torque down fasteners the use of a torque wrench is required. The use of torque wrench was not shown in video. Torque specifications not provided in video.
Warning! Do not let the steering column dangle down too far as this could potentially put stress on the shift indicator cable and cause damage. Be sure to support the steering column on top of a thick book on the driver side seat.

Thanks for the video and the part numbers. Now it is time for me to get going and do this on my 2003 Ranger. Adjusted the indicator yesterday and identified the fact that I was missing one of the bolts from the under dash plate. In case anyone needs to know, the part number for these is N606677-S36 (found the manufacturer size/model on Tasca Parts). Now to find the screws that hold my radio from underneath. On that side note, do you happen to have anything that shows what are in the top two retaining holes for the radio bezel? Can't tell if it has just the hole or a clip that helps out. Thanks for any help.
