Your video for the PS700 is excellent and I saved to my favorites for continuous reference. My new PS700 is a great sewing machine. Thanks also for great camera close ups of each part of machine as you explain.

Hi Rhonda! I use two tows of a long straight stitch length 5 spaced about 1/8 inch apart and pull the threads to gather. There are gathering feet, but I prefer the above methed

I just got this today. Looking forward to using it.

I was making my granddaughter a dress and it requires the dress skirt to be gathered before adding to the bodice. I wasn’t able to do this on my machine, but would like to learn how.

I have the Brother Simplicity SB3150 which is basically the same as this machine and I love it. The simplicity line was discontinued but except for being a smidge smaller, the two machines are identical. Mine is about 4 years old and works great. I highly recommend the PS700, it has so many great features and performs beautifully!

Yep! Great machine!

I gave my daughter my backup machine (regretted it later), so I bought a new backup that I was going to get mine machine back and give her the new one Well, I think I'll just keep the Brother PS700 wish the lettering was more enhanced, but then I have my big machine for that.

Hi Gina! The letters are preset at about 1/2". So no, they are not adjustable.

On winding the bobbin, the tension button you wrap the thread under … there are 2 buttons the top flat very thin piece has a space under it and then the larger thicker lower piece. Which one do you place the thread under the top thin plate or the thicker bottom button?

You put the thread under the thicker piece at the bottom. The top part is more of a button that has a little spring under it to give tension. Hope this makes sense.

Thank you so very much. The winder post will not stay engaged when pushed to the right for winding-I have to use a flat blade to push and hold it to get it to wind.

@@marya22 Hi Mary! Sounds like your machine needs to have some attention, as the bobbin winder should click over and stay while winding a bobbin.

Hi. Loved tutorial. Is this machine have the extra high lift on the pressure foot to allow for thicker fabrics under? Is it a high or low shank machine? Thank u very much.

This is a low shank machine. You can lift the presser lifter upward to allow thicker fabrics, but I would suggest getting a machine with the Automatic Fabric Sensor System if you use heavier fabrics regularly. The BQ1350 has that feature. Glad you enjoyed the video!

I recently bought this machine. So far I love it but I want the machine to have needle down when I end seeing. I can’t find out how to set this anywhere. Help

Hi Terri! That option is in the settings. Touch the button that looks like a piece of paper with the corner turned down. Once in the settings page use the down arrow to go to the needle position (probably the 2nd setting) and use the right arrow to change it to the down position. Hope this helps.

How to attach the “Q” foot to he Brother SE700

Hi Patty! You mean how do you attach the embroidery foot? You remove the sewing foot and shank from the machine first as the embroidery foot has it's own shank. The embroidery foot has a slot that the screw slips into. Make sure that the foot is flat and tighten it down.

I can't figure out how to turn the speed controller off. Display says to do this because I can't get the sew button to turn from red to green regardless of the presser foot position.

How come the needle comes unthreaded when start. Sewing after cutting thread

Hi Hana! Yes this machine is able to sew a variety of fabrics. It is packaged more for the quilter, as it comes with quite a few quilting attachments, but is a great general machine as well.
