Ya know, the funny part is that I fought a Tapion who kept using Hero's Flute and I just popped Shield Barrier every time he did it and I was literally able to just punch through Hero's Flute 😂

I guess Shield Barrier is as OP as I expected it to. Plus, it could be a good counter to Ki Stuns, although I could also see chessers and timid players running this.

I think the skills are essentially different in nature. Hero's flute is actually like a one ki bar evasive when you are low on stamina. Where as shield barrier could be more like the barrier of Broly in dbfz, where you are still able to attack, and just protect against stray attacks that could counter you in those instances.

its fun to use after every combo and then burst charge to maintian high ki and stamina while in a safe bubble from ki cancles and stray kamehameha blasts

Shield Barrier can stop the first few beams of emperors beam as well. Giving a near free guard break if you are close and fast enough

Love the fact that after all these years you are still able to pump out new content for this game. Keep it up

you're forgetting one basic fundamental barrier skill "Super Guard", it blocks everything for as long as you have ki why would I ever use shield barrier or hero's flute for damage blocking. especially not for Raids

i like to heavy stm break people and then use hero's flute while they're recovering, and cancel it right before they get up to start hitting them again lol

My main question is, why didn't Cabba mention the fact Heros Flute can heal you and if you have a super soul it can heal your Allies on top of that. Fun Fact: Energy Zone Towas Move can heal those cpus you have to protect in missions unlike Capsules and Limit Bursts which can't.

Also if your ally charges in it while you’re usingEnergy zone they charge HELLA faster.

Heros flute has a Bubble collision with the hitbox of your CAC. Kinda like how Dark souls has hit box mashups that are due to how big a boss is or how little the bubble in question kinda ovals and reveals a hit point that will connect with yours and your enemies skill hit box. Like it really might be due to how they patched ki waves to hit more easily is what I might think can be the cause as well.

Heya Cabby! I just wanted to help add to the whole Heros Flute conundrum; using moves like Burst Kamehameha will actually punch through it, so I think it's just rapid hits. Not saying that's the case, but certain moves can punch through it with a second input.

I think seeing shield barrier up against Rough Ranger would be nice as well. Still a great vid!

A comparison between the 2 new counters might be a good idea!

hero's flute also can heal allies if paired with the Z soul as well

Fun fact some times when two ki moves clash they make a shock wave that knocks the closer player back

I think there is another skill that has similar properties but only works for a few seconds. I think that might be Spirit Boost or something around that (it's red) Probably might not stack with these two as much

Psycho barrier is better than both, blocks everything for one hit and if you keep I putting you can block for one or two more hits, and it also works pretty well as a backhit or distance check or even to block ki attack spams

Psycho Barrier can nullify ki Ults.

I would say lord slug also have a kind of cool barrier, it's definitely not very good at the defending part but you can turn the barrier in to a ki blast I don't know if it's useful online, I mainly play pve or sometimes pvp with others offline but it definitely have style points! Also does hero's flute recover health? Or it only works with super soul?

The move is called darkness twin starr its very good pvp but not overpowered. It can be countered but it block ki stuns and does damage which already makes it better than sheild barrier plus you can through it if timed well.

Something that really disturbs me out of all this, is that the “s” in saiyan in Cabby’s KZread name, isn’t capital still, TRIGGERED

Did y’all know you could add shield barrier with data input. It works and it’s fun to use

Hero Flute should be able to "Force Activate Super-Souls" in my opinion because it does with Tapion's Super Soul, But not the other way around

Burning Strike isn't a good skill to use for this test because it doesn't have any armor like every other ultimate. You can backhit someone using it with the right timing.

Rough ranger is really good as well

Doesn't Shield Barrier disperse after being hit? Therefore, it doesn't completely prevent Ki Stuns right? Considering a lot of people ki stun in high paced neutral in close quarters. The skill isn't totally instantaneous or anything like a counter so it's only effective if there's breathing space.

It's effective against ki stuns, as it's supposed to be. If someone throws a ki stun at you, the barrier will block it. If you get hit by the actual attack AFTER a ki stun, you would've gotten hit anyway, regardless of if your opponent is ki stunning or not. It's supposed to block ki stuns, not make you literally invincible against everything.

@@SoapyBowl I'm just pointing out how Cab was preaching about it making ki stuns obsolete entirely. Like activating it lets you fight neutral without ki stuns for 15 seconds with vanishing and the whole shabang. Instead, yes, it does only stop the initial ki stun encounter as you have said.

Bro shield barrier was so weak it couldn’t block a Big Bang attack

Heros flute can block some ki ults such as final flash

Just one simple thing one you can move and other you need to stand still pretty obvious which is better

Okay there's a lot of people noting Psycho Barrier but how come no one is mentioning Rough Ranger? I know it's a counter instead of a raw barrier but if a ki blast hits it it turns into a barrier so I think it's worth comparing.

in terms of pvp just use shield barrier after every combo and then they can never throw a random ki blast at a distance.... meaning it forces them to be up close and personal to get that barrier off. or they use spirit bomb and it goes threw because fuck me am i right?

Hero's Flute also has Assist Effect while active like Emperor' Sign. Plus it has a Super Soul that heals only party members, it heal rate is worst that Hmm Hmm hmm even when using a Namek which their Assist Effect is healing which stacks with the super soul. Healing Via Hero's Flute I think counts as support in the scoring for Raids unlike Hmm Hmm Hmm.

With proper super soul you can heal with Hero Flute.

I think shield barrier is a really weak move, all strikes cancel it, all basic attacks cancel it and even some supers cancel it. Why use shield barrier when darkness twin star does the same thing but better in every way? Darkness twin star does damage, blocks ki stuns, can be thrown and tracks opponents which does decent damage. Lasts almost as long as shield barrier, It also blocks some supers like death beam and consecutive blast and some basic attacks. But its not op since you can step vanish through it and block it.

for pvp no, use Burst Charge if your gonna use a charge. but for pve like raids and PQ, use Ultimate Charge

Shield barrier exposing a lot of y'all ki stunnin/death beam fiends bcuz yall not skilled enough to create openings and yall really just being cheesy waiting for ppl to attack to stun someone. Told y'all dudes years ago yall was using a less skill way of fighting ki stun spamming spamming calling yourselves "top tier players" but you cant even create consistent openings which is a skill in xeno that y'all want to try and disregard but it's a skill.
