Schipperke dogs are unique. I've never had a dog that acted so much like a cat in my life. They aren't rowdy, they just do what they want.

And your Shibas reaction when you say mommy's home is just priceless!

I love the adult Schip coming over to make sure everything is cool, too. What great dogs--all three of them!

+LordAsharak Where are you going to get one from? Are you going to buy it? If so - how much does it cost? They also don't grow as large as other dogs, like huskies for example, do they?

I've had her for almost two years now. I'm from Sweden and here it is illegal to remove a dogs tail. Wich I am very grateful for. So even if it was legal I would never do that.

My parents owned a Schipperke named Bear and I grew up with him as my first dog. Then I watched him die when I was 7..My family now owns a Schipperdoodle!

When it comes to temperament, the shiba and schip are one in the same. Stubborn as all get out, but very intelligent pups. Need a lot of space for em!

Be careful what you ask for victor. Shibas aren't for most people. I'd spend some time around some and talk to some owners before making that decision. They can be more than a handful, and can take over the house of an inexperienced owner. That being said, they're wonderful, we rescued 2.

We leave our schip alone for up to 6 hours, but we often come home to things in a mess!!!!! We have a drop cam to monitor which dog is naughty

Grown up with multiple schipperke's as outside dogs; they can be left alone for long periods. :)

We leave ours alone for 6-8 hours with no issues. We do have a drop cam that we monitor while we are gone at time...

Oh yeah I have one. They are totally fine as long as they're bathroom trained etc. Make sure you exercise them LOTS

I wish people would stop removing their tails. It looks weird, and it's unnecessary.

Believe it or not, the Schipperke are naturally born with no tails.

My schipperke passed away. I would love, love another! To answer a question about tail docking, they are born with tails. But, the veterinarian suggested, I was to have my puppies have the procedure.

@@SethTheArcanine No they are not. You might get 1 in 20 born tailless, but they have tails. They are in the Spitz family and have that trademark tail that curls up over the back.

...NO tails...they look weird with tails...if you get one with a tail...have it docked when they're young...
