Definitely the best gameplay of Unmatched on KZread, the key points are simple: it's sped up, so I can enjoy anywhere the game without having to wait lots of time between each move. The zoom of the cards are extremely helpful since they let us understand more of each character we don't know. Really hope you keep them coming!

To be honest, it’s kind of refreshing to see Homes lose. He always seems to dominate at my table, and no one seems to like him, not even whoever is playing him. Definitely would have gone for the healing card with that eliminate the impossible at the end, sense after a master of disguise, you threaten lethal with a 2 boost confirm suspicion.

Yeah, same here. I don’t think I’ve played as or against him in over a year, hence the shaky piloting. It turns out not letting your opponent play the game isn’t generally a fun mechanic.

That missed heal really had you! Also the eliminate the impossible plus confirm suspicions combo could've taken him out.

I love your videos, RC! They're the best battle reports on KZread for any game, not just Unmatched. Keep them coming, and very well done, Sunzida! I thought you were out a few times.

I hate Strange lol. You think you have him dead to rights in the mid game and then he just never dies and heals up everything.

Strange could not discard this card using Sherlock's scheme, because it requires discarding an ATTACK or DEFENSE card, but not a universal one.

If you're referring to Confirm Suspicion, it says nothing about being an attack or defence card specifically. It mentions the attack or defence value, which both apply to versatile. They're even considered the same for game purposes anyway. "Cards with the [burst/shield] icon are versatile cards. They can be used as attack cards or defense cards. Versatile cards also count as both attack cards and defense cards for the purposes of other game effects."

@@RecursionCafe , "Cards with the [burst/shield] icon are versatile cards. They can be used as attack cards or defense cards. Versatile cards also count as both attack cards and defense cards for the purposes of other game effects." Is this from the rules? Specify from which particular set. Because the Daredevil card Breather clearly says "Choose an attack, defense, or versatile card from your discard pile and return it to your hand."

@@user-zm2vx6uh4dFirstly, that quote is from the Vol 1 rulebook and, I'm reasonably sure, every rulebook. It took me 10 seconds to Google that. Secondly, you ignored my first point. Confirm Suspicion does not care what type of card it is - it looks at the attack or defence VALUE (text below), of which versatile cards have both/either. "Choose an opponent and name a value. Your opponent must choose and discard one card matching that attack or defense value." Thirdly, Daredevil's card text is like that to basically say "non-scheme" to prevent looping Breathers. They decided that way would be clearer, so they wrote it that way. I think that should clear everything up.

Sorry but you’re wrong-to quote the rules ‘versatile cards also count as both attack and defence cards for the purposes of other game effects ‘

Why would 7 cards in hand be the worst time to play confirm suspicions? Higher likelihood to make a hit on the named value and if not you can see more cards.

  • @RecursionCafe

That’s a reasonable way of looking at it. I think what I meant was that if they have a lot of cards in hand, they’re likely to have plenty of good options. Thus, me taking away one of them hurts less. If Strange only has four cards in hand and I took one away for example, that might be more impactful. As you said though, the likelihood is lower.

Dr strange never recovered his first hp. He went from 10 no regen and lost 2 to the counter punch fyi.

That’s because Sunzida used the character ability to take a damage and cycle the card. The fire animation is there to show that.
