SHERATON Ko Samui, Thailand (2024). Mixed Feelings, and a STORM
The Sheraton Samui Resort on Ko Samui in Thailand is rated with 5 stars. I cannot fully agree with this, especially the room, aside from the nice bathroom, was a bit of a let down. Thanks to my hotel status I was upgraded to this sea view room, however I barely saw the sea, and there was constant traffic and noise on the service road below, which wasn't inviting me to stay on the balcony. The restaurant and food offering was excellent, and also the pool and bar landscape was wonderful. I was a bit disappointed by the guests this hotel attracts, as many European guests thought they were on Mallorca, got up early morning to reserve the best sunbeds at the beach or pool. I haven't seen that in any other 5-star hotels in Thailand. Luckily.

The hotel grounds, food and beverage all look great but I agree that the room doesn’t really match the 5 star status. I also don’t want to have to get up early on a holiday to reserve a sun-bed, so it’s disappointing that this behaviour is being allowed. This is a comprehensive and interesting video review so thank you very much!

I enjoyed the video. Did you prefer Meliá over the Sheraton? Is it worth visiting Ko Samui? I liked seeing the airport in your other video and put the island on my upcoming travel list. But I shouldn't travel that far just to visit the adorable airport!

Thank you very much! I much preferred Melia over Sheraton, but Melia was about 50% pricier. I love visiting Ko Samui, and as a side note: I suggest to organize transportation to the hotel beforehand, as at the airport I find it a bit a rip off.
