The Shema is one of the prayers that the Torah specifically commands to pray in the morning and at night and has been practiced since ancient times. The first part of the Shema begins with one of the most well-known and fundamental expressions.
Listen, Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one.
Blessed be the Name of his glorious kingdom. And you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
And they will be those words that I send you today
And you will teach them diligently to your children and talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk on the road, when y you lie down and when you get up. And you will bind them as a sign on your hand and they will be completely between your eyes. And you will write them for the days that the heavens are above the earth.
