Come on guys you can do better than this. It would be more helpful laying out the wiring diagram to align with your test circuit. Also stating that momentary switches are what you would ideally be using. You need to work on the documentation on configuring your products.

Question: does Shelly manages to cope with more than 1 switch serving the same light bulb? Say that you have a switch upstairs and another downstairs that turn on the same light. By having 1 shelly in each switch can i still use the switches as before and can I automate them? Or is there a better way? Thanks for the replies, and have a great holiday season.

Can you please explain in details how it works with dual mode button? Is it remembering the last state or always starting from 0% or 100%? I will be grateful for information.

is it possible to alter the 'slow dim' to a standard instant on/off (when using the standard wall toggle switch). I only want dim settings in automation, and use the wall switch with standard effect (100% on or off)

yes... if you use a single push button... L to sw1.. at first click it goes on, if you keep it pushed it dims to the percentage you want... if you leave the button and push it on an instant it goes off.. then you click again and opens at the same level you have dimmed it before.

why don't you just connect one single push button to sw1? it makes everything just with one click... click on, click off, and if you keep it pushed it dims...

I'd like to understand this but I'm unsure what that switch with two switches is? I just need this application for a single on/off dumb toggle switch.

No, the shelly does the dimming, you'll need a switch.

According to the manual: shelly.cloud/documents/user_guide/shelly_dimmer_2.pdf In the configuration it mentions "Button Type" and it sounds like it should be possible: Button Type: • One Button mode: the device is controlled with a single switch. • Dual button mode: the device is controlled dual switch. • Toggle switch one button: the device is controlled by a single toggle switch. • Edge switch: the device is controlled with an edge on/off. Which better be the case as I'm waiting on them being delivered.

Why do you use the live wire on the Output terminal here whereas in your wiring diagram you use the neutral? Same for SW1 and SW2 - you mix the colours here and don't specify whether they are live or neutral. This also contradicts your wiring diagram supplied with the device. This video is not helpful
