If you go by what some people are using to determine greatness, then that title would have to be given to Flo Jo who has the world records for 100m and 200m. The magnitude of greatness is not measured by timing results alone, but more importantly dominance. So most of the people arguing doesn't understand the fullness. Dem confused and fanatic.

Show me a woman who won 2 individual Olympic titles in 100m 5 individual gold's in world championships more than 13 years apart. I can only talk of Shelly. Not to mention the relay Gold's (Olympics and world titles) championship silvers and bronze. Her consistency in running sub 11. Sub 10.9 sub 10.8 and now 10.7 is amazing. She is the greatest sprinter of all time. Her longevity and number of medals speaks so loud. She has ran against the great OGs like Jetter,Bowie, allyson Felix (one of the greatest American athlete ever), blessing Okagbare, Campbell brown and now the new school like Shericka Jackson (which I believe is going to be the new queen of track after shelly retires) ,Elaine Thompson, Asher Smith,Terry, Williams etc. Gave birth and even came back to win over them all. No one has more medals than her in all combination; diamond league, IAAF, indoor, Olympics, and record breaking 5 world championships etc. Shout out to Flo and Bolt for setting world record but Shelly Ann Fraser pryce is the Greatest sprinter male/female dead or alive.

Wrong. Flo-jo only ran that speed twice. She did not turn up for drug testing hence alot of speculations. She died shortly after. Speculations again. Was it overdosed? She was not a consistent runner. One can be sure of an athlete gift when they keep repeating it. When an athlete run fast one or two time then out, it maybe questionable. Many people thought Flo-joe record should be erased because it was not clean. But guessed what? It was not proven, she died.......leaving many questions. People recently laid those questions to rest became they learned the record cannot be erased...evidence, if there is any to the contrary died with her

All 3 jamaican female GOATS sprinters are great and unique in their own way!. Shelly-Ann "pocket rocket" Fraser Pryce is a great quick starter coming off the blocks, fast pacer and very consistent and competitive + her longevity is legendary!.She is the most accomplished jamaican sprinter of all times. If you want to beat her you got to try to match her lighting start right away (easier said than done!) because if you wait for her to pop like a pocket rocket she wil set the track on FIRE and resistance would be futile!.Truth be told, Shelly-Ann is an INSTITUTION in the world of sprinting. Elaine Thompson-Hera is very strong in her mid race acceleration, a VERY fast superb finisher and have a never quit kind of attitude regardless of her setbacks and injuries!. She is a FORCE to be reckoned with when she brings her A game and top physical shape. If she gets a good decent start and the other sprinters allow her (easier said than done!) to start gaining ground early on the race there's no one that could catch her and is game over folks!.Her style is very similar to that of the GOAT Usain Bolt; average start+explosive acceleration +STRONG finish. Shericka Jackson is a VERY strong sprinter when it comes to cashing up with who ever is place in front of her, her starts are improving dramatically and she is as strong as Elaine in the last 30m or so of the race. Shericka Jacko Jackson is literally a POWERHOUSE in sprinting, has the unstoppable power of a freight train when she's in acceleration mode and a huge competitor that is very PROUD of her roots just like the other 2. Jacko is the sprinting's world female version of She Hulk (the ANGRIER She Hulks gets the STRONGER she becomes) , the FURTHER the distance the STRONGER and faster Jacko gets!.She is great at both 100m and 200m but at 200m I think she will break records and establish herself in history as one of the GREATS in the 200m. If you are making a list of the GREATEST FEMALE SPRINTERS of all time , you got place these 3 jamaican phenomenal sprinters at the top of your list!.

I'm a diehard Track and Field fan, and have participated in this sport since grade school, all the way up through my college years. As of now, I'm in my seventies, and continue to follow Track and Field, more so, than any other sport. After following Track and Field for over 70 years now, I feel the knowledge I've gained during those years, has helped me evaluate, this sport as well as the athletes in an objective manner, that's fair to everybody. I have to admit, that being from the United States, have allowed me to be more acquainted with our American athletes over the years verses other athletes around the world. I'm so happy, that this new Diamond League division of Track and Field, has allowed me to become more acquainted with other athletes around thIe world as well as our American athletes. I was a sprinter in high school and college, and because of that, most of my attention have been focused on the sprints. when it comes to Track and Field, although I do enjoy watching other top athletes in the hurdles, middle distance, and long distance running too! That being said, the primary reason, I'm writing this article, is because of the ongoing debates on who the G.O.A.T. (GREATEST OF ALL TIME) is in the sprint events, for both women and men. To be totally honest, If a Track and Field fan, has made up their mind on who they think the G.O.A.T. is, in most cases, nobody is going to change their mind, regardless of what kind of statistics you throw at them! The only time, you can possibly change somebody's mind, are the Track and Field fan, who is on the fence, and haven't totally made up their mind yet, on who the G.O.A.T. is. Most of the younger Track and Field fans, tend to live in the present, and have no knowledge, and done no research about the history of Track and Field, and prior athletes' accomplishments! My biggest debates, have come from young Jamaican fans, because of all the excitement (which is well deserved) of their most recent dominance in the last few years in the sprints. I have to say, I've noticed that Jamaica is starting to expand into other areas of Track and Field, like hurdling, middle distance running plus field events! (Which is a good thing). The only time I get frustrated when it comes to debating, is the fans that say; ("Don't tell me the facts, my mind is made up, already")! As of now, after the 2022 World Championships are over with, I'm going to write an article about this ongoing (G.O.A.T.) debate, in this sprints, from a whole different perspective. I'm going to explain who the G.O.A.T. is in every sprint event ("IF THERE IS SUCH A THING") as well as the Greatest Track and Field Athlete Of All time is, from my perspective. I absolutely guarantee, the name that I'm going to come up with, as the person, I think is the Greatest Track and Field athlete of all time is, has been totally flying under everybody's radar! I can't wait until the World Championships are over with, so I can write this article.

I'm writing this article, for the sole purpose of putting my (2-cents) in on the seemly ongoing debate about who's the Greatest of all time, when it comes to the women's sprints. I promised the write an article after the 2022 World Track and Field Championships were over with. Obviously, my article is only directed at those fan's that even care about anything I have to say. Even though I'm not a Track and Field historian, nor a professional Journalist, I feel like I can be somewhat qualified to give (hopefully) some perspective, that might make sense to this debate. Plus, I plan to put a whole new spend on this debate, that's never been done before, (as far as I know of). I'm going to be objective as I can, without showing any favoritism toward any athlete, based on the country they're from. Before getting started, I'm going to break down my argument, based on the centry they performed in. I feel there should be two sets of record books. One set, for the 20th century and another set for the 21st century. The primary is, that it's almost a proven fact, that there was a lot of PED (performance enhancing drugs) use, by Track and Field athletes in the 20th centry, that was never caught by testing positive for drug use. And as a result of that, some of these athletes (have in all likelihood) set world records. I also know, that even in the 21st centry, Track and Field athletes, are still getting caught (either using PED, or avoiding out of competition drug test. Before I write about who I think is the leading candidate for the G.O.A.T. of the 21st century for women, I'm going to state, who I think is currently the Greatest Track and Field athlete of all time, for women, in the 20th century (when it comes to sprints)! Absolutely nobody in the history of Track and Field, will ever repeat what she's done as an athlete. I know, lots of Jamaican fans, as well as some sports writers, and journalist have come out lately, and anointed Shelley Ann Fraser Pryce, as the greatest sprinter of all time! So, because of that, I'm going to quickly compare Shelley Ann Fraser Pryce's accomplishments to who I think is the greatest of all time. I actually don't know, how many national championships S.A.F.P. has won, in Jamaica, but my gut tells me, it's less than (10). But the great (Fanny Blankers-Koen, has won (58) national championships! As of now, S.A.F.P. has no world records. Fanny Blankers-Kern, set (8) world records, and tied (4)! She not only set several sprinting world records, but also set world records in several field events! Everybody talks about S.A.F.P. running these great sprint times, after having a baby. Fanny Blankers-Koen, set several world records, (after having (2) babies! That's the primary reason, they nick-named her, the (FLYING HOUSEWIFE)! Fanny Blankers-Koen, is the only woman in Track and Field history to win (4) gold medals in a single Olympics, (1948) (GUESS WHAT) Fanny Blankers-Koen, won these (4) gold medals, when she was 30 years old, while a housewife, and past her prime! The sad thing about Fanny Blanker-Koen, she didn't have an opportunity to compete in the 1940 or 1944 Olympics, (when she was in her prime, because there wasn't any! World War (2) broke out, and kept her from competing in her prime! I can go as far to say, she (more than likely) would have won (4) gold medals in both the 1940 and 1944 Olympics, since she held (8) world records in the sprints and field events, plus was tied in (4)! Let me tell you why Fanny Blankers-Koen, only won (4) gold medals in one single Olympics. It's because they would not allow her to compete in more than 3 open events, plus one relay, in 1948! There's no question, when would have won more than (4) gold medals, if the rules, would have allowed her to compete in as many as she wanted to. Fanny Blackers-Koen, actually started out her career as a (800) meter runner, but in 1928, they wouldn't allow women to run the 800 meters in the Olympics, because they thought it was too grueling, so she dropped down to the sprints. She held world records in the 100, and 200 meters. Plus, world records in the 80-meter hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, etc. and went on to set a world record in the pentathlon! Fanny Blankers-Koen, won (13) national titles in the 100-meter dash, (12) in the 200 meters, (11) in the 80-meter hurdles, (10) in the high jump, (9) in the Long Jump, (2) in the Shot Put, and one in the Pentathlon! There's no question, there will never be another woman sprinter in history, to put up those kinds of stats! To cap everything off, in this article, about Fanny Blankers-Koen, is that she was voted by the (International Association Of Athletics Federation) as the athlete of the century! ("Last I checked, one centry is 100 years")!! I got to thinking, who was in that 20th century with Fanny Blankers Koen? What about Jackie Joyner Kersee, Wilma Rudolph, Babe Dickerson, etc. Fanny Blackers-Koen, has at least (2) statues of her currently. Like Jesse Owens, there was a ticker-tape parade for Fanny Blankers-Koen, after the 1948 Olympics, with thousands of people from all over the globe! Since there's never going to be another Fanny Blankers-Koen, in anybody's lifetime, I decided to start another female and male G.O.A.T. of the 21th century So therefore, in my next article, I'm going to tackle that subject, on who's the leading candidate for the 21th centry Track and Field sprinting G.O.A.T. is. Most of us, aren't going to be alive, at the end of the 21st centry, so I can only put my (two cents) in, as far as who I think the leading candidate is! There's no way, anybody can declare, Shelley Ann Fraser Pryce, the G.O.A.T. when her career is not over with yet, as well as Elaine Thompson. The only top-notch sprinters whose career is over with, as of the end of the 2022 World Championships, is Allyson Felix, Veronica Campbell Brown, and Carmilita Jeter.
