These are just a few. The most important which is the Gas to Energy project which will provide cheap LNG for export and reduce energy costs. Costing almost 1.8Bill USD. The construction of 4 new stadiums at 15mil each. The Corentyne 4 lane Highway which will cost almost 400mill. Construction of 6 new hospitals in addition to the New Amsterdam Hospital. And lots more. Many of these are multi year projects though. And there is also private sector investment projects as well. One correction the airport is completed already they are thinking of a new terminal now. Probably with private investment but nothing confirmed yet.

Well done to Guyana in having a government of vision. Looking to the future and planning for the future. My uncles went to work in the oil fields of Aruba and Curacao. I, like many Caribbean people went to work in England. Others went to US, Canada and elsewhere. I look forward to the day when Guyana can attract, nurses, teachers and other professional people in large numbers and those professionals see Guyana as a country to make a living. Those developed countries don't treat Caribbean people good. Too much racism. Of course it depends on the Guyanese government and people extending a warm welcome to Caribbean people. Something they been doing for many, many years gone by. I wish Guyana well.

When most infrastructure is done in Guyana. They should help pay off the international loans of the other carribean countries. And they can pay Guyana back over time with a lower interest .maybe that's what the Guyanese priminister Mean when he said eventually all the carribean will benefit. They can borrow from Guyana instead of the IMF Or Washington or European banks

  • @percivalthomas6007

Borrowing from Guyana rather than the IMF and the World Bank would be good for Caricom countries. Borrowing from these institutions is too expensive for developing countries. It is a kind of robbery.

Social Inclusion! Euphemism for RACISM? Let's add: EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. Not just the words, but the practice. Age-old feelings of racial superiority, racist attitudes , aided abetted and supported by the colonialists of old, are as alive today as then. Only God can change hearts. When it's clear that the downtrodden will only have true access to the crumbs, there can be no true prosperity for the ones at the top of the heap.

It takes time for countries to develop the competencies in those areas. Also money it's self helps enable the country to develop the capability to have contracting companies that can help in it's development. My country T&T have developed contracting companies that can assist in building infrastructure, however we still depend on major big companies and even contractors to do the major jobs. It requires very high technological sophistication to really have the country lead in such Mega Projects that we nowhere in the Caribbean or CARICOM countries don't have.
