    Love those welk (sp) shells, really neat ..I love the olive shells too, I see a lot of them here when I'm snorkeling but they always have the critter in them so I leave them there lol

    You really do well with shells out there Basia. I used to go shell hunting when I was younger and make models from them, what fun, but never found shells like those hear in Britain.

    Hi Kevin, I was happy to find this area where the beach was very eroded and then the hurricanes stirred up the ocean and the result was piles and piles of great shells for me to dig through!

    Wow, i love to go shelling, too, when I visit some nice scenic beaches. I can't swim and I go to the sea just while travelling, to take pictures. I love taking shells, anyway. :)

    That unknown shell is a channeled whelk! Its the rarer cousin of the knobbed and lightning whelk. I'm surprised you've never found one before! I heard they are fairly common on the Outer Banks. Either way a nice specimen on the larger size! I've heard some lightning whelks can get up to 16 inches! I also belive the black rocks may be obsidian! I would try smashing one to see if it breaks into shards.

    This was my first channeled whelk that wasn't broken. Outer Banks is northeast of our island. I may try smashing one of those rocks.

    michy 2015 the barrier islands of north Caroline reside where two currents meet. The Labrador from the north and the Gulf Stream from the south. It's basically the same reason sanibel has so many shells. Shells just pile up! Also you can find helmet conchs!

    I know you would just like I did. The hurricanes stirred up the ocean so the shells roll in into the lower areas of the beach! Piles and piles of them, I had to move them around to see what was underneath! Shell lovers dream area! Have a great weekend!

    Love to see the sea and there beautiful gifts . I can not Walk any moore and with my weelchair I can not to the beach , but I have from the good years a bunch of Shells in my graftroom 😊😻😊 and I love them very much !!     Hi, bad storms and hurricanes stir up this ocean and the tide delivers piles of shells and other "treasures". Some areas on this island typically are better for shelling than others and you can go way out in ankle deep water and pick as many as you want. Happy Hunting

    The chimes are not just one layer and they are very long. Got them about 10 yrs ago and they have produced some awesome music for me on my deck. Will do a close up on my next video.

    why do you call those shells olives?? i know on my weekly 6 mile walk i find angel wings but always the left side, never the right, is that happen to you too???
