This video shows how to use Ansys Discovery to convert 3D solid bodies into line and surface bodies for meshing with beam and shell finite elements in Ansys Mechanical. Discovery does this conversion quickly and efficiently while properly assigning beam cross sections and shell thicknesses. Shared Topology can then be used to ensure a conformal mesh in the downstream structural analysis.
