As a father of an 8 yr old autistic boy....my son has taught ME so much...he Is my world, my little man can't imagine life without him....this woman needs to pay for her actions.

What a good man that found him. He saw a kid by himself and immediately stopped and made sure he was ok while calling police. A molester or something could have picked the kid up. No one would have known about it.

I was a single Dad with a son with CP. Worked 3 jobs and cared for my son. Had to feed, dress, toilet, bathe, etc.. Never once thought of leaving him to someone else. This is sickening.

That poor child omg. Sounds like he's better off without her in his life, hopefully he finds a loving family and she never gets custody again.

@@michelesmith2620.......... Wow! That was an ASSumption! When in my 20s I attempted to adopt 2 girls, 7 and 9. Both were special needs. In the 1970s it was quite rare for a single person to be approved for adoptions. If I were younger (almost 72), and in better health (inop brain tumor), I would definitely apply to adopt him. I never married and due to medical reasons I couldn't have children. Life isn't meant to be easy - life is a learning experience. I imagine that sweet boy has much to share and teach others.

Get her tubes tied and locate the father and cut his tubes as well. These irresponsible loose over breeders need to be stopped before we have a country full of unloved discarded state raised children whose future is very dismal. This is one of the reasons this country is sinking fast. Don't worry the taxpayers will be stuck paying for these unwanted children. Lock them up for very long time so they don't hurt someone. Criminals and bullies look for victims they think are weak, I know, but a beautiful little baby is a gift from God. He's defenseless, and his early life had just begun. Here's a word of advice: Bullies, etc., try picking on someone at the very least is your own size. The little man there can't fight back, but some will, "teach you a lesson."

I am so happy to see that there are some good people left in this world. Thank God for this man. God only knows what would have happened if this man did not decide to help a child in need.

She could have surrendered him to children's services, she could have left him with the same person she left her other children with. It has been said "Actions speak louder than words." This woman leaves 2 of her children at a friend's house but dumps her 6 year old on a road. She never wanted to see him again. She needs to be locked-up so we don't see her again.

Thank you Ron Reese for being there when you were and taking care of this little boy. God placed you exactly where you needed to be at just the right time; for that, and for you, I am so thankful. There are so many crazy people out there, like his mother for instance, who could have made a different end to this story.

Unlike many others in here my first thought was that mother must be suffering from a psychiatric episode, but then reading about the boy being autistic I thought that perhaps she was overcome with the caring aspect. I also wondered if she was receiving adequate support in her caring role. Not the first time we have heard of carers that have buckled under the strain is it. It is a sad story. Just a relief the boy was found before coming to harm. Hope the mother gets the treatment and care she needs also.

I have a 20 year old non verbal autistic son and this breaks my heart on so many levels. Caring for a disabled child is very mentally taxing and also very rewarding. If she needs mental help I hope she can get it, but to abandon her child and leave her other children with a friend is not the way to cope. God bless all involved 🙏🏽

Unfortunately as parents we don’t get a break or psychiatric help. It’s 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I’m grateful and thankful I have a loving supportive husband to talk to and be in “the trenches “ with. God bless you for your work 🙏🏽

My ex husband did this to my daughter (17 years). Through indifference and fraud he had custody. His motivations for custody-he was spiteful and he didn't want to pay $125 a month child support. He drove her 20 miles from their home and when he stopped he told her to get out. She will soon turn 39 & has done well for herself. She has one college degree and has worked toward a second one. She's been married 16 years and has well loved kids . Neither she nor her older sister have seen him since. Through the grapevine we heard he was homeless and living in an rv . Both my girls have done well despite him being an as$hole. I'm very proud what they've done with their lives.

at least the kid caught one lucky break when ron found him. hopefully he can be placed with someone who will take care of him.

Good thing that the right people found him…couldn’t imagine the wrong person finding him sick people out there

I'm single, disabled and I've care for and LOVE my 33 year autistic daughter. It's not always easy, but I cannot imagine being away from her for a minute, let alone days and days! She should NEVER get him back! She doesn't deserve him!! God Bless this wonderful man for taking him under his protective and loving wing!!

I saw the child and he is adorable. It’s obvious that he had not been given proper autism care or proper nutrition. He has a facial injury. He needs a good home and good care. One misstep & he could have been stuck by cars.

Thank God that good Samaritan found the abandoned young boy so he could be rescued. I'm glad they caught the mom so she can be held responsible and face consequences.

This woman needs a step ladder to reach a slugs belly! Abandoning a 6 year old, on the side of a road, in the rain and the child has autism. I’m genuinely in tears, my ex had three wonderful children on the spectrum and I’ve spent much of the last 22 years working with people affected by it. This also begs the question where was his father? Perhaps he’s already abandoned him with this POS.

Unfortunately, in many cases where parents have a child with ASD, one or both parents can't cope with the demands of the child's needs and split up. It takes a lot of love and strength. The way I see it is the lord gave you that child for a reason. It's because you are supposed to have the love, strength, and perseverance to raise that child. Blessings to that little boy.

In most cases the woman kicks the man to the curb, makes it difficult to impossible for the man to see his children and milks it for all the money she can get.

A lot of people should not have kids.

How does someone just leave a kid like that, discard it like that. I am heartbroken. That poor child.

The domino effect on drug use is so heart breaking. Hope the siblings can be together.

As heartbreaking as this story sounds, this is what many people go through. Being abandoned by others emotionally, physically and mentally. As challenging life is, it's easier to take on that challenge with support and commradery. Avoid the easy way out by abandoning life's challenges, remember the goal is to better ourselves, our thinking, our compassion for one another and ourselves.

I have wrote on a post yesterday. But I can't seem to stop my self!!I go cold thinking of this little boy and how he would be feeling as my son is 3 and non verbal autistic and to no how life is for him and if he didn't have me or his dad he wouldn't do anything . People need to step up and I say it nicely I suffer from eupd and depression but my life its to now make sure my sons live there lives . I have to maintain my mental health to be able to care for them and god do I as I will never see anyone look after my boys as they are safe with me . That's how people should be or if you can't cope ask for help or take your child somewhere they are safe . Until your better or if not then other plans would be made. Don't do this 😫 these poor children 😢 😞

That’s terrible. Every child deserves to be loved. She could’ve dropped him off at a safe place as well. Some ppl are so cruel. TG he’s alive. He is truly blessed.

A ticket not paid as in a traffic violation? Meanwhile citizens with outstanding traffic citations can renew registration. What if annual registration and license renewal were connected to violations and payment of citations was required as part of the process?
