Sheep Finally Sheared After 6 Years of Being Lost in the Wilderness

A sheep named Sheila has been found after being lost in the Australian wilderness for six years. It was found on the side of a road unable to move because of the amount of wool in its fleece. Sheila has now finally been sheared. Sheila’s 46 pounds of wool fell short of the Australian fleece record, held by Chris the sheep, whose fleece weighed 90.3 pounds last year.

    @@adolfhiller3146 was that a question? It does on sheep as I grew up with sheep and if you put your hand in their fleece in summer it was cooler inside than outside. Most farmers will shearer them in summer though.

    In fact, I'm a quite hairy woman, which doesn't please me at all(if only I could get rid of this heritage). Plus, had a stroke during a brain surgery. Got rid of the tumour but lost my left side mobility.That's why I can relate to the poor sheep story who happens to share the name with me.

    I always wondered why they have difficulty standing afterward. Was the fleece underneath propping her up, thus negating much of the leg power needed to stand, or was she dioriented from the sudden and massive loss of weight?

    91 lb x Anywhere between $2 / pound and $10 per pound in the US, but usually closer to the low end. A single fleece is about 20 pounds total, though it can be more or less for a large or small sheep.
