Her love interest in the video is Adrian Paul who starred as Duncan MacLeod aka "The Highlander". Sheena was a guest star on an episode of that show.

This will always be my favorite song of Sheena's. Absolutely love it.

This was my favorite track behind "Lover in Me". I use to get so excited when this came on the radio. Got a lot of air play on R & B stations back in the day. This was when R & B was trying to cross over to Pop and Pop artists wanted to cross over to R & B. Now, its no big deal to cross over. R & B, rap and hip hop has crossed over everywhere.

definitely. Why on Earth this song and 101 didn’t achieve more success I have no idea- the production is superb,the writing strong and arguably her voice never sounded better. The live version on Arsenio Hall’s show just confirms this.

I’ve been watching a lot of her videos this week and you can clearly her Prince all over some of the songs Then I heard one song I forgot what it’s was and I super said wait that’s Angela winbush Cadence all day

She had talent and beauty .

A Sheena classic indeed.

This was my favorite song on the album and was very disappointed it wasn’t a huge hit for Sheena.

This is definitely one of my top 5 favorite sheena easton songs

Loved seeing her as Annie Devlin on Highlander with Adrian. One of my favorite episodes. She should have done more acting back then in addition to her singing career.

This was my very first cassette single purchase.

Still sounds hella good!

I loved this song when I was younger (like 8 years old). At that time I used to use this song as inspiration to just keep living, keep going on, despite life's difficulties. After finally listening to the lyrics and finally seeing the video I see she was speaking about love lost; however, I will still use this song as motivation for overcoming life's challenges.

Yes, he did. In fact, he produced the album for Pebbles who was also his wife at the time. LOVED her songs; Mercedes Boy, Girlfriend, Giving You The Benefit and a few other songs from the Giving You The Benefit album.

I absolutely loved Sheena Easton, still do, this song, taken from what I think to be her best album, The Lover In Me, makes me miss the days of great music, great videos and a time when they actually made true, unique stars;

Face and LA were the BatMan and Robin of hit songs in that era. Then you had Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on the other side w a ton of hits of their own. Golden era for me.

I never knew there was a video for this song. This was my favorite off that album.

GOD!! Brings back so many good memories. I used to DJ this song, Strut, Sugar Walls, The Lover In Me and 9 to 5. To me there is no greater music than the 80s.

I love this video but then again I am a huge Adrian Paul fan. He is the most caring and enigmatic man I have ever seen. Highlander was the greatest but there is more to him than just Highlander. If you love him in Highlander then check out his other movies too.

@@DJBearOH Got it in one, and I'd go further and say you're being too kind. Seems to me it's not 'a lot of songs' but virtually everything. In fact, they only flat out sample cos it's easier than pretend their whole thing wasn't stitched blatantly together from all that'\s great that came before.

Another great one from Sheena, quality of the videos were much better then, they tell a story. Suggestive a bit risqué, but definitely not vulgar.

You were right. I still think Practice your lines is the bomb thing to say and do. The song is saying sometimes relationships go wrong and you are going to be hurt, but dont give up. Practice your lines. Dont you know them by heart by now? Keep yourself open and ready. (Yeah. I like that. )

Beautiful voice, beautiful woman and exudes sexiness without losing her class. She has REAL talent and never degraded herself by stooping to the stunts and filth of todays female singers and of course Madonna (the sleaziest purveyor of smut, in the music business).

Without her voice you can trash the whole arrangement- she makes it special !

Sheena has incredible beauty and style what a performer in the 1980s

By the time this album was planned Sheena did not have a hit song in 8 years! She had lots of fans all over the world but no record company knew what to do with her. They must have put lots of budget into this production. This was a high risk project! If it had paid out, this would have made not only her comeback but also would have shot Babyface and LA Reid to stratosphere of pop internationally. They also paid Angela Winbush, Jellybean Benitez, and Prince to write and produce. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Incredible voice and conviction in her delivery. What a talent. She can sing anything.... Next to Jody Watley's "Affairs Of The heart" , one the most underrated pop albums of all time!

Check your math. This album came out in 88. A Private Heaven came out in 84 which had 2 top ten hits on it.
