    have been looking for a project like this for a converted wodden swedish fid i made for a friend who is getting into knot and rope work to keep his hands working, arthritic joints of his and mine need constant movement..this kinda manipulation of rope does the job well and fun doing as well..love your channel , being from nfld canada i grew up around sailors and fishermen..so this is like getting part of home back..cheers

    Mikko, does that wall, over under etc at the end have an ABOK reference? I've tied it a few time now but I'm wondering what the finished knot is referrenced as?

    Not to my knowlege, it doesn´t. You could call it an extended footrope knot or six strand gaucho :)

    Loved watching this video. Very nice! You're very skilled, compliments. One question maybe: Why do you use a over two crown in the second part? Is this for decorative purposes or does it has something to do with the taper off the spike?

    Yes, over two crowning covers a larger diameter better.

    I just poured over Ashley's trying to find that knot. I should have read the comments first. I found the middle knot but not the end one. Congratulations of coming up with it, it's a beauty. I've hand written instructions for my self in the margins of Ashley, so it is now in ABoK
