The "making things naked thing"...🤣🤣🤣 Im glad she had a healthy lamb...he's cute!
My Grandad raised sheep for a short time when I was a young girl. It was my job to bottle feed all the babies who didn't have mommas. I used to rub my hands through the wool then on my body. It helped keep the biting flies and mosquitoes off me as well as moisturize my skin in the hot dry Ogden summers

@@ferretyluv I know, but as a girl all I cared about was my Arabian and keeping those dang flies from biting on our rides. I do remember my skin feeling hydrate. Grandad boiled the wool, not sure if it was just in water or what, he made different saves for skin and leather, kept saddles soft and repelled rain. He taught me many old ways, wish I remembered them all. Wish I had his spinning wheel, I'd like to make my own fibers for my knitting and weaving
As a chatty gal myself, I can appreciate her little chats throughout her haircut 😆 just gotta make sure you appreciate her beautiful shine and adorable moonspot
I appreciate how careful you are during your shear. Shows respect. The other shearers gloat about shearing each sheep in 1 minute, but they are often cut & thrown about.
Never EVER gets old watching Katie be gentle with her sheep or other animals!!
She was so calm, even though hugely pregnant. Thank you for sharing your sheep knowledge!
Never knew that watching someone shearing sheep is pretty much a therapy, it is beautiful and heartwarming at the same time. And by the way I just found you and your works, Katie. Thank you for making my day.
I never knew watching videos of someone sheering sheep could be so calming. lol Glad I found this channel.
She's so vocal during the process 😂
Love, love, LOVE watching your gentle shearing technique! Keep them coming!
She looked almost metallic . Beautiful sheep , never seen that breed before, learnt something new which is always good
Fascinated with each stroke of the shears. And she's so good at it
Thanks for letting us know about her baby. As you started I was wondering how soon the lamb would arrive and what it would be. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity!. Such a beautiful fleece, wow.
Luna’s fleece is absolutely gorgeous! It would make a lovely cable knit sweater
Learnt so much about sheep in just the short amount of time watching your short vids. Im from new zealand and theres a big shearing competition culture over here.
I have learned SO much from you in the past year! Last year, I shaved my long-haired cat because she was too hot and she wouldn't let me brush her. Her shave came out a little rough, but this year, I followed your instructions on shaving. Granted, you shave sheep and llamas and other animals, but the process is pretty much the same. I was able to do a better job, and the shave was much smoother. I'm sure you never thought that your videos would be useful for shaving a cat, but they were! Thank you for sharing! - Molly
I would not be able to resist snuggling and cuddling each freshly shorn baby. So soft XD
I'm always amazed that they don't really seem to fight you. Is it something about how you're handling them? Or just once you put them in that position they won't fight? It's really lovely to watch you sheer!

There are a number of factors that go into handling the sheep. The position is designed to keep the sheep calm as long as they are comfortable. Sheep don't try to get away as long as their feet are off the ground and they aren't in any pain. I've noticed that working quickly keeps them from being in one position for too long, thus testing their patience. I also believe the faster they feel the relief from the fleece removal, the quicker they are to relax/trust. Just my experience though. We ask that the sheep are fasted at least 12 hours to keep them from being uncomfortable like we would be after a big meal. Sheep that are full, fight more and thats been the link as to why. The breed of sheep makes a big difference as well. I sheared some Scottish black face and one sheep got up on me 6 or so times. ( Ill share that video of Cammy from The Sheep Game and I after I slow down in life a bit.) Also, show sheep like to fight more as well. They have been bred to be body builders and are shorn standing for the ring. These breeders do not care if they are breeding shearable sheep, just what they look like in the ring. This can lead to injury for shearers. I actually gained most of my skill on these brutes so I think myself lucky for becoming a better shearer and not a broken one. As opposed to the popular belief, the "pet sheep"/"bottle raised" are typically the hardest to shear. They act as if they are offended that we would treat the prince/princess of the barn yard like the other sheep. The wildest of the group usually sits the quietest. Long story short, yes the position is designed for the comfort and control of the sheep, but keeping them in it requires skill and care. Thank you for noticing. 💞🤘🏻

This 🐑 lady is very vocal!! I have noticed that whenever you talk to the animals they quiet down and become more relaxed! Love watching all your videos!
You provide services with professionalism and respect. The videos are always educational (and fun) to watch. Great job, Katie and Darian, as always! ❤🐑❤

This is actually just one years growth and right on time. Some people trim "long wools" twice a year, but this girl grew clean, not matted locks so its good timing, right before summer heat 🤘🏻
Thankyou for being so kind to all the animals you shear Katie! GREETINGS FROM ENGLAND!!
Anyone else binge watch to fall asleep?

Are you counting shorn sheep?😂❤
You are SO gentle with her very pregnant belly and is one of many reasons I respect and enjoy you Dear💕🤗
That baby must have thought "what's going on now?" in the unusual position and getting used to the sound of the shears before birth.

haha, did you see the video where i actually made the unborn lamb move? Dont see that very often!
They are so docile, they let you twist and turn them any way!! She's a sweetie, I think she enjoys it!! 😊
Watching you shear these animals so lovingly is calming
I used to spin and if I had some of that fleece I’d have to give it a try! Gorgeous wool.
I was having a really crappy day. I mean a horrible day! The hereditary bone disease really making me grumpy... Then I saw a new sheepy shave video! Luna was precious telling you all about her day! Thank you for sharing the pic of her little baby too!! Having better day now! 💚💚💚💚

That one client in the salon who chats the entire time.
Such Shine! And Katie shining with kindness and skill, as always, in addition to those shiny hands. Love Luna and her Moon, and talkative self.

Ah. No bueno. Im glad we can at least be an example that skill exists and is expected.🤘🏻
Never would have thought fleece would be used for doll hair. How fun. Great video as always.
That's a wow! I would think momma was happy to get rid of the fleece...then popped the baby a week later. Absolutely stunning fleece
YAY!!! Another spectacular video by you and your wife. I was bragging you up on another channel where the guy has sheep and did a first time shearing of his sheep. After a couple of sheep done by him, his girlfriend took over. One of the things he said was "I didn't know you were supposed to shear their legs too!" lolol
The "getting naked thing" right off just gives me giggles. Then there's all the talking that sheep is doing. She's a real mouthy girl. "Hurry up and get this done with less talking, more shearing! I wanna be comfy!"
Pure ASMR for me. I love watching these vids.
It’s wonderful that you take your time to show us the fleece and a staple from it to see the characteristics of this breed. Awesome shearing as always, and a very cute noisy ewe. 🐑💕✨
Interesting breed glad you shared that with us.
I enjoyed this very much.Luna was talkative but not a struggler, and I loved those long locks.Being something of an artsy person I can appreciate what can be done with that beautiful fiber!
Very interesting! I enjoy learning all the information about the sheep.
"I doth protesteth", sweet baby, is LOVING getting free, but trying to act like she isn't happy. ❤
Momma probably felt so much better. She had a beautiful baby!!
She is one vocal mama!

You are so talented, and you are so kind to the animals. It is so fun to watch you work, and I have learned so much. Thanks for making such great videos. ❤
Cool. When you are 50, your hands will be 20. Love your stuff, so relaxing.
Thanks for the birthing announcement and I also learned so much from you. Each time you do one of these short videos. love the long locks and the wavy crimp.
I have been following for a time now. I really like you talking to us as you are shearing the animals.! 😊
Katie, I just love to watch your firm but gentle handling of these animals. Thanks for sharing your all around knowledge of your skill and animals❤
Katie you made me giggle when you said we might be into the making things naked thing. I'm 77 years old and I don't think that applies to me but I do enjoy seeing the animal cleaned up and all that beautiful wool as I am a Knitter and a crocheter. Keep up the good work. I'm Rebecca from Danville Virginia
5 stars!! This was easily my favorite video of yours. I loved how you talked to her and us while you were shearing her. Thank you for teaching us so much about what you do and how the fleece is utilized. ❤
Katie is so sweet and amazing with these animals. I love watching your posts.
Now I know where lanolin comes from! When I was breast feeding the hospital gave me a tube of it and said it will help with any drying and pain. And keep it clean. I had to learn how to do that to give my 2 daughters my immunities and it worked. They didn't get colds and ear infections like a lot of babies. I love watching you. It's amazing that they just bend with you. I bet they feel better when they're nice and cool, especially being pregnant.
I enjoy watching you work. You have good tools. You make interesting commentary about the different kinds of sheep. The animals look happy to be rid of their blankets.
"If you're into this making things naked thing..." LOL The positive attitude of these two is amazing and wonderfully infectious. :)
Love how you are firm but gentle, how you talk to the animals. Obviously you enjoy your work
Thank you so much for showing that shearing fiber animals needs to be done gently and intelligently. I've watched quite a few of your videos and I'm always certain that you leave the animals happier than when you found them. And thanks for the basic breed information, too; I grew up in a farming family, but we were cattle folks. If I do livestock ever again, I don't want to have to kill anything, so here I am learning about woolly critters instead.
Thank you for always being so gentle.
Love ❤️ your talented work. You and your wife do great work and deserve all the accolades you receive. Your kindness to the animals is fantastic
Luna really glow in her skin… very nice sheen. Thanks for showing us this beauty
Hoping you are not suffering in the heat. Nice that Ms. Luna had a haircut before her Labor day.
I LOVE watching you do your thing!! Its ALWAYS entertaining, and I learn a BUNCH from you, and your methods, especially when you are talking to us about the wool type, sheep breed, what can be done with each type!! It's amazing to me that there is SO MUCH TO LEARN about these sheep, and your work!! Keep up the obviously GREAT JOB YOU DO!!!
Luna was just talkin to you the whole time. 👏😁✌️🙏🌻💞🇺🇲
I really enjoy watching you and your wife shearing, so interesting to watch you. You’re so amazing with all your animals that you shear.

Thank you, I always love to watch your sheep shearing films, the sheep look happy and cool after shearing with you and I love your wooly stories about how the wool may be utilised, interesting and informative, take good care of yourself ❤
Sweet sheep, outstanding shearing!
Amazing and beautiful! Love learning about the different sheep and watching you shear. I follow a sheep farm from Canada and I’ve learned there too.😊
The shine is almost iridescent! Beautiful!
Sanger Texas! ❤ Stop by View Road and say hello next time! 😊
Lol- love her chill "baa". Nice job!
Awwwwww. Most of those sheep are so compliant. Sweet fellows.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
Luna had to feel much better without that 8 pounds of fleece in this Texas heat! And pregnant too! She’s beautiful!
"Makin' Things Naked Thing" needs to be on a hoodie!
She was so vocal! ❤
She looks like a pearl!
Love how she was singing, Are we done yet?? Beautiful!!!
I used to spin, it was the most relaxing thing I’ve ever done. I have an antique wheel that needs repaired, maybe I need to do that and get some of this wool and try it out.
Someone needs to do a VO for this poor preggo lady. "Get the bangs. Get the BANGS, woman. Dang, my doula said I should just let it grow out." 😂
Love watching you shear all the animals❤
She is very vocal. Lovely fleece
What a wonderful breed. I hope you get to meet another talkative Wensleydale IN Wensleydale one day ❤ Wensleydale cheese is amazing too ( I don't think it's sheep milk) love from Yorkshire UK ❤
I don't know why, but I'm hooked. It's nice to have knowledge.
As a spinner my hands are itching to get into that fleece. Gorgeous.
What a nice ewe. And her fleece, amazing!
What a talkative mama
to my delight, I tuned into a video from the uncomprehensible Cammy in Scotland and there y'all were! Yay! Looking forward to seeing your posts from the scottish trip.
That's amazing! It's like she's actually enjoying the cut 😊
I remember the hands of the Basque shepherds/shearers were as soft and smooth as butter. They hardly had any fingerprints. Long time gone.
You connected with Cammy! What started with you has expanded to an obsession with The Hoof GP in Scotland..Graeme Parker... one I share with 2 million people. You have really created a career you share with some really wonderful people.
Lucky Luna was just sheered by the best! Lucky girl! Very informative learned somethings new ❤😊
