This video demonstrates drawing the internal shear and bending moment diagrams for a beam with a hinge.
It use the same beam geometry, loading, and reactions determined in this video • Calculating reactions ... .

Hey, you are great at explaining things. I have found your videos very helpful as an undergrad. Could you please make some more on dynamics, fluids and some on thermodynamics? I think those three are the hardest undergrad classes and having videos for those would be awesome. I and many others would appreciate it.

This is very interesting, I hadn't thought about doing it this way! Amazing, it really goes to show that its more then just calculations, and understanding the actual reason for each step is really important! Thank You for the great video.

Hello! Why don't we mention the vertical reaction of the hinge in the fbd which is 3KN? I noticed that in the ending of the first video too but didn't figure out why.

What would happen with the BMD if the fixed support was at the end of the right side, where you probably got an upward support reaction and the moment arrow down with clockwise position then?

hi if assume that the force is facing upwards but from the sum of moments i get the force in minus what should i do then ? dose this mean that my assumption was wrong ?

If there is no hinge over there, the moment would also be 0 at that point, so whats the difference?

+Aulia Muhardi Arifin if there was no hinge the structure would be statically indeterminate and the reactions would be different.
