"That's perfectly straight" LOL. Jeff has such a relaxed, fun way to teach. Puts a smile on your face while you learn.
You're the only reason I'm passing Statics. Definitely using your videos for Solids next semester!!!! you're truly a lifesaver.
Jeff Hanson is the Bob Ross of engineering, change my mind I dare you

there are no happy little mistakes in engineering.
Jeff, you are the freaking man!!!!! I love how simply you taught this. I really appreciate how you mentioned calculating the area from the shear diagram, it helps tremendously in calculating the Max Bending Moment!
This is coming in sooo useful for my aerospace engineering course, I struggle understanding "why" something is the way it is, so far you have been super clear with everything
man i am learning more in a 15-min video than in hours of lectures in my uni. thank you so much
DR. Hanson, thank for another classic and awesome lecture of Shear Moment Diagram Problem with Moments. These lectures are very helpful to many students all across the world.
Enthusiastic teaching partnered with clear explanation and tips, thank you sir!
I wish I could meet you and thank you in person! I used your videos in school during strength of materials, then helped prep for FE watching your lessons, and now I'm studying for my PE (Mech: MDM). I appreciate you!
You’re the best! I had difficulty with this but you made is easy for me. God bless you man
I was terrified for my statics final and after watching your videos I’ve never felt more confident!

Good thing I'm taking statins after June 2020, I don't know how people passed before your videos were a thing

What a wonderful way to teach. You truly are a saint Sir!!
Jeff, you're a LIVING LEGEND
Jeff... I love you man.... You are going to help me get this ME degree and I am so thankful.
Dr. Hanson, your videos are of great help. Thank you.
Thank you soooo much for the help Dr. Hanson. I wouldn't of received my degree without it
You're appreciated. You're gold. Bless you.
You are an amazing teacher. Thank you Jeff
Thank you so much for these videos!
Great video, right to the point and explained it perfectly!
thanks a lot sir! , for making our subject much more easier than it use to be !!
Dr. Thank yoooouu soooo muuch, for the first time in my life, I understand this topic, thank you very much, may God reward you with heaven
I really appreciate this and you!
You just earned a subscriber... Keep up the good work man
Thank you, thank you so much!! You are unbelievably helpful
tnq so much you are the only teacher that i have ever seen . very simply teach
I'm doing my post graduation and these videos are amazing to polish your concepts
Thanks a lot for your teaching. It's helping me a lot during my studying
really helpful videos jeff thank you so much
You made this so easy for me.Thanks a lot.
Muchas gracias, ha explicado todos los aspectos que me resultaban confusos durante los diferentes ejercicios.
You are awesome Dr. Hanson. 10Q so much ❤.
i am out of words you are the BEST..............Thank you very much
I have mastered this now. Thank you sir!
sir im from sri lanka, Im very thankful to you as i tried so much videos to get the clarification on bending moment diagram, but i did not receive full clarification, after watching your video i get the 100 percent clarification on Bending moment diagram. thank you so much sir,and also like your coolness during lecture,we expect more support from you sir..
Here I am, seemingly for the millionth time, in my final semester of college, for a quick review. xD I'm forever thankful for these videos.
This man is a legend ❤
Sir u are such a great person. Thank you so much for these videos.
Thank you for this. You are a LEGEND!!!
These videos are excellent!
thank you for this!
Normal professors make it look easy. Jeff Hanson makes it feel easy.
Good teaching and very engaging, keep the good work up
i understand you better on 2 times speed than i do my professor when hes talking to me one on one. thank you
I will never forget the John Denver moment! I wish my University Professors were so funny like him.
hocam var ya You are LEGENDARY THANK YOUU I finally got it
Thanks Jeff!
Haha this is so much fun, I actually feel like studying again🌚
I assumed downward force as negative. but I started the shear force diagram from the free end, and my graph falls below the X-AXIS. Is this right or would I be marked down? the shape and values are exactly the same as Jeffs'
Thank you, very helpful
U are alot of fun sir😅I've never taken lessons while am smiling b4 🙂🙂 U make everything easy
This was a helpful video.. thanks
Thank you
thankyou for making it so easy
Man... U r amazing... Thanks a lot
Thank you so much sir!
Firstly, greetings from trouble and sadness center of the world, IZTECH. I passed statics with your enthusiastic lesson expression.

But in lecture 59 Shear diagram was slow to fast and you put the moment diagram the same as this ! Why?
OMGGGGGGG YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!
Your explanation of the parabolic curve using the trick of slow to fast contradicts each other. can you check this please and correct the anomaly? I am bit confused!
If TOMMOROW, in fact today, because is after 00 here, i manage to take a 5 (the minimum grade in romania to pass an exam) i will subscribe your channel and share it on the watsapp group and Facebook group and everything my Coleague has. THANKS FOR YOUR WORK!!!
Thank you so much. Wayy better than my profeesior. Dude gets angry when asked to explain a step
absolute Legend
You are much better than my campus lectures
I've watched so many of your videos and I just realized you sound like Dr. Phil 😄
you cant knock out your MA!!! 😂😂 TOS will never be the same to me again. GOATED tutor
Thank you sir !
wish i could double like the video youre a great teacher
thank u
the kitchen concept got me😅👏👏👏👏👏👏
6:56 is the most relatable moment in the history of engineering online lecture videos
thank you sir❤👍
GOAT!
What happened to lesson 59 in the statics playlist ?
Very helpful
You are a GOD
ty sir
I got a trick for the fast and slow type of curve part sir. Just draw a circle, divide it into 4 regions, and then put "PD" on the upper left hand side (Positive area, Decreasing slope) and then "NI" on the upper right (Negative, Increasing), "ND" on the lower left, "PI" on lower right. so taking that example at 12:49 since the area of the shear is Positive and then the slope is decreasing, then it would be "PD" and since PD is at upper left region of the circle the curve would steep then slow 😊😊

@@tutingrubena1584 I think this doesn't work when the distributed load is a triangle or does it?
South Africans🇿🇦
How did you get 12x6 for the triangle area? Wouldn't it have been 14 x 6 since it was 30 kips high and we subtract the 16 for the rectangle below? I appreciate any clarity
@keandominiqueq.palermo1852
Жыл бұрын
nope. rectangular shear width should be 18 brotha...
Can't thank you enough
i love youuuuuuuuuuuuu!
the moments on the smile don't follow the right hand rule though. i don't understand why the moment is positive when doing the equilibrium equations but negative when doing bending moments.
"That´s perfectly straight as you can see" 🤣😂😂
GOAT
Thanks tog
Great Stuff! prefer metric - it seems easier....
I wish I found your videos earlier.
I need more than one like for this
shouldn't be the Moment at A already be in terms of kips only? The ft. unit is cancelled by multiplying the load by 6ft
Thank you so much for these. I'd rather pay you than my university cause I learn nothing from them
So the sign convention for moments is the opposite of what it has been all along? That's not confusing or anything... :)
@jacobchizek1300

The sign convention for bending moments is different than the sign convention for moments in general. Jeff talks about the sign convention for bending moments in lesson 57.

The only thing that is confusing and illogical is the use of kip when the standard is KN.
