I think this movie was meant to show the possible trauma of a SA victim and one of them can be dissasociative memory. It has been proven that sometimes our brain repress (involuntary defense mechanism) traumatic incidents in order to keep ourselves sane and alive. So all the memories got mixed up and slowly resurfaced.. If this is confusing for you, imagine how it feels for an SA victim.

It's interesting how the mind works, I've been SA multiple times in my life including as a child. I had worked through a lot of the guilt and shame but when I lived alone for the first time I started having sleep paralysis that felt like someone was holding me down and SA me. It happened a few times before I went to therapy and took medication for it to stop. My now husband has supported me the entire time (we were dating then).

Any SA will create heavy collateral damages, especially if perpetrators are allowed to continue. The dissociative trauma illustrated by this movie is real, as well as the pain inflicted on the indirect victims.

Not a just a husband…. Toby character is a beautiful soul! Someone that takes classes to better understand the trauma and how to support someone through that. May everyone be blessed with AT LEAST ONE Toby in their life. Whether spouse, genetically related, friend, whatever the relationship and ideally sans trauma BUT someone that will love you and will literally do whatever needs done to help you heal if God/dess, Universe, Whatever forbid you do have trauma to survive. Blessed Journey To All Y’all & Yours (plus sprinkle of whatever your “Toby” needs to keep being an awesome soul)

Okay for confused people out there. Lynn is living a successful life with a caring boyfriend however that doesn't mean that she is happy. Danny also r*pe her and that brought unpleasant memories back to her. When she is hit by that truck it the time where she is imagining things. She wants to believe that her father and brother are still alive. Tony is a cop because he is always protecting her. Her friends hypocrite because they told her secrets to other people. That secret was that she r*pe by her teacher. She told her friends her secret but they told other people making her mad and angry at them. Her father always try to silence her and that wasn't helping her. The part in her teenage year are the things she actually experienced. The one where her parents were like that she got into a car accident was something that she imagine has happen. Her friends having her intimated scene released to the public like how she did with hers. Her father actually willingly to protect and kill for her instead of silencing her. Her ex-boyfriend return to her to support her which he didn't give to her when she was going through trauma. Mrs. Patty was someone who could have helped her but she didn't and Mr. Patty is dead because that is something that Lynn always wish would happen. Lynn eventually come back to reality. This isn't about time travel but it about revealing the memories of her trauma.

Yeees this is a very good explanation. This is actually showing a form of severe complex PTSD. I'm happy she got help at the end because it's very VERY difficult to live like this. Anyone who is interested by the story should read "The Body Keeps the Score". Even after years have passed and you've done a lot of work, your brain and body has changed due to the trauma. It's best to get professional help if possible.

The r*pe incident by Danny brought up unpleasant memories for her because she was r*pe by her teacher. The world where her father and brother are still alive is just a made up world that Lynn made to protect herself since her memories is wiped from that world where she doesn't have to remember such scary memories. Her friends in that world get her photo leak because it is something that Lynn always want her(friend) to experience where she(friend) spilled her(Lynn) secrets. Her boyfriend came back because in real life he left her when she needed him the most. The memories with the teenagers are the true story. She eventually have to leave that imaginary world behind it had already uncovered, and brought back all the unpleasant memories back for her. The imagery world is like a protection or a barrier that sealed the traumatic she went through.

Okay I was equally confused and I read up on dissociative disorder and the plot became a bit clearer. I'll try to explain what I understood so I hope it makes sense. Lin after getting assaulted by her teacher doesn't get any help to deal with the trauma. Hence her brain represses the memories of this incident as a sort of defence mechanism and continues her life till this point, a result of this is her becoming withdrawn from her loved ones. (like refusing to go back to her hometown, behaving coldly towards her ex bf Yuang and now her current bf Toby). Now this past trauma is triggered when Danny tried to assault her, hence when the truck crashes into her car, she experiences a dissociative state and with the bits of information she knows about everyone, she imagines another reality, to escape her current reality. THIS is the reality that Lin actually wanted for herself after she got r/ped in her past - her brother, father, Sheng Hua (who is actually Danny's wife in the real timeline), as well as her boyfriend Toby fighting for her justice. Sadly in reality this didn't happen - she did not receive any support from her parents, her teacher was still alive, and her father and brother both passed away. So now after the memories of the past resurface, she realises that she has to face it instead of repressing it like she did till now. If you remember at the beginning Sheng Hua tried to talk to Lin but the latter refused as she - or her brain - didn't want to face the past. Thus she contacts Sheng Hua to work together with her and tries to take down Danny. And the rest is basically her reconnecting with her friends and mother, getting proper help from a psychiatrist and accepting Toby's love.

Nice plot it was very unexpected

This was well made, I was a bit confused at first but eventually understood. Toby is a great guy and the Patty's are such horrible people.

When rape accrues speaking from experience it never feels like you can get yourself clean enough in my case i tried scrubbing myself raw. Many women can attest to this i am not the only one but watching that the director did a good job putting that in there.

These people know they're the main characters when all this drama coming their way.

Toby is the real hero and victim here. In my opinion.

Very complicated

This had good production. It was as a Kdrama. I am still trying to get used to normal Chinese dramas. I can't put my finger what, but they just seem different. I like their VERY LONG historical dramas and some of the fantasy dramas, but I have not found a regular drama I really like. They are coming up in the production arena though.

I am so sorry and feel deeply for girls who go through this, and then so young. So many things be wring, and so many people fall short in the situation- fake, selfish learned behavior to be apart of society in a "comfortable" way.
