She Used Nail Glue And THIS is What Happened 🤢 | Melodysusie E-file Review
In this video I will remove the product with Melodysusie E-file M series. What was underneath was a little unexpected... Green nails!
I will explain what it is and how to avoid it.
As much as I wanted to do amazing transformation for this client.. We need to let her nails grow first and do extensions after that.

I had a client with 1 green nail. I refused to put product on and told her to leave the nail product free for at least 3 months. She was grateful that I educated her on it, but upset that she had to leave without pretty nails. Never saw her again - I think she may have gone to someone else to have her nails done before the 3 months were over. Oh well, you can only inform, not in force.

@@Nailcou you can only try and hope they listen. I’ve never had greenies (probably because I do my own nails and I have all the kit) But I could never wait 2-6 months before I can put product on. I enjoy wearing nails and feeling elegant. So I kind of do understand why they would just do it any way. Love your channel 😊💜✨

When I was a waitress, my nails would often turn orange under my acrylics and I always thought it was just from working around food. But when one of the techs who didn't normally do my nails saw my hands he literally gasped and scolded the girls who were doing my nails regularly because they had been covering it up! I didn't know it was actual bacteria until he explained 😳 He refused to put more extensions on until the orange went away, which I was sad about, but grateful. A lot of salons are just looking to make the quick money, sadly.

YIKES and NO! Where are these people getting this information from?? It doesn't cause pain or other adverse effects at this stage but that doesn't mean it's harmless. This is an example of how *proper* nail technician education is important, nail techs don't need a whole ass microbiology class but you do need a basic understanding of pathogens and how they apply to your work.

I got greenies for the first time at the end of last month when I wanted to keep my xmas nails on just a bit longer. against my better judgement, I used nail glue to solve the issue 🤭 thankfully, it was only on one nail and has since disappeared. I'd also like to say, thank you, Anastasia, for explaining greenies and prevention so well. it was something I've already been taught, but your perspective on it was super informative and easy to follow. so much better than reading it our of a textbook

Pseudomonas was one of the many reasons that flowers weren’t allowed in the hospital I work at as it can grow in the water/ vases. The pollen can also trigger respiratory issues but the main reason was that stagnant water is a perfect environment for bacteria to grow. The sealed flowers wrapped In a self contained water bag are a lot better these days . It always bugged me when I’d see nail videos calling greenies ‘fungal’ infections cos that green/ blue tinge to the nails is almost always pseudo.

I have a happy Greenie story. I got them once from going WAY too long between fills and having a couple of severely lifted nails. My schedule just wouldn't allow for frequent fills. I I started doing my own nails when the tech explained why it happened Now that I can do it myself, the MOMENT I notice any sort of lifting, I fix it immediately. As a side effect, I found out that my tech was overfiling my nails and they're much stronger now and I don't have to use tips, I can simply do overlays. I used to get told that I couldn't grow out my natural nails, they were too thin. Turns out no. They were just overfiled. I followed the "bad" KZread advise, and put an enhancement on the nails, but it didn't go bad, and I did monitor it very closely for any spreading. The infection was a bit higher up the nail plate and my nails grow very slowly, so it took almost 3 months to grow out completely. Near the very end by the time it had grown off, the green had faded quite a bit and looked almost like if nicotine stains were greenish. It was a moment of TRIUMPH when I finally clipped it off and my nails were all one healthy color again.

really good and informative video! i'd like to add something to what you said near the end: why using a CLEAR nail paint when you could use colour to hide the damage and te rest of the colouring in the nail? BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO SEE HOW IT PROGRESS!!! if you paint it black and you remove the paint next week, you would notice you are having a problem after letting it fester for one more week! if you are having a medical issue, PLEASE, leave aside the "beauty" part of your life as much as it's needed. it's so much more important to have healthy nails than pretty ones, and once they are healthy again, you can do whatever you want to them once again

I’ve had greenies a few times before since I’ve had acrylic extensions for 22 years with very few breaks. Techs have always just cleaned my nail up and redid the acrylic. I guess I’m lucky nothing ever came from it. It would eventually just grow off and I was fine. I haven’t had greenies in a long time now but I do occasionally glue nails back down until I can get to the salon. I’m a horrible nail biter (to the point where I bite down the sides of the nails even) so it’s best to keep my nails covered.

Right now I have clear base gel in a thick layer on my nail. Will this make it spread?

I'm lucky I know how to do my own nails so that as soon as I sense lifting or that something is wrong, I can remove the product and fix any issues. I tend to keep a layer of hard gel on my nails under the other gels, acrylics, and polishes so that I rarely get down to the bare nail, and I do maintenance on my sidewalls and cuticles and edges every couple of days to catch lifting. My boyfriend thinks it's funny that I am always working on them even though they are not very long, and I said it's important to me to keep them in good condition because I work with my hands so they need to be healthy.

I did my own nails, I used nail tips and gel polish about 3 weeks ago, I noticed some lifting but I thought I could leave it for a few more days before I could do them again. I lost a nail today and saw it, then I saw a dark spot under the nail tip in my other finger and found another yet bigger spot, I panicked and went to get a nail file and acetone based extensions remover to remive them all, I filed them and most of the tint is gone but I saw tea tree oil is good for this? Also to not do a cutícula treatment? And I saw you did that in a dry manicure. I would highly appreciate any advice and guidance 😢

I have never had pseudomonas, but I had a severe gel allergy from a gel adhesive that I used to attach my gelly tips and a fungus infection, the gel allergy was so bad that it burned my nail plate, my physician did not want me to use the fungal pills because it causes liver damage and takes so long to heal, so prescribed me ciclopirox 8% nail lacquer, it healed the fungus in 3 months. I still haven’t used anything on my nails, I am just trying to get my nails healthy, I did dry press ons once, with acrylic to adhere them to see if the acrylic would bother me and I had no issues, so when I am ready, I will probably switch to acrylic.

once the green has been removed and the clear coat is being applied, is it safe to apply using the bottles brush and dipping back in, or would you have to pour the polish into a dish and use something disposable to apply?

Ok I have a question. What about using nail glue for full coverage tips like nails to go from Sally’s? I used them they’ve been on about two weeks but there were bubbles under a few nails! Should I take them off? I can see a little bit of moisture in the bubbles especially after a shower and stuff but no discoloration that I can see. They are mostly transparent.

I used to use just tips with glue and regular nail polish, I for some reason, didn't understand they won't last, and used to glue them back when they would lift. Bad idea, I had green spots on almost all nails. Then I did something worse. I used dip powder and tips, and didn't expect how strong it would be, compared to a simple glued nail tip, and when one nail lifted, I tried to rip it off, but the part that was not lifted held very tight, and it hurt like... enough for me to learn the lesson that whenever you apply any hardening product, like acrylic or dip powder, and you want to remove it, you file.

But she went to another nail tech because she said she needed her nails done 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s pseudomonas 6:31 ah you just said it 😂 Edit: yes I got it once from a gel manicure. Instead of taking it off or going back to the salon I glued it. However, the next time I had lifting from glue on nails, I poured isopropyl alcohol down between my nail and fake nail. I let it dry and Reggie’s it and didn’t get a greenie

I was using nail tips and because I don't go to nail technician because they are expensive, I used the nail glue from the box. I had the nails for a week idk how the lasted so long and I got the same bacteria. In my index it was so bad that the color it had was dark green. I trimmed my nails, tried to remove as much as I could with my nail file and I didn't out any product, not even nail polish and waited it to grow so I can trim it. Since then I never used nail tips with glue only the press on nails and regular nail polish

You just have to grow the nail out. You can't heal a nail. It's already dead. Same as hair. Once they grow to the point you can see them, it's dead keratin. You can help make new growth healthier but the part that's already grown is not something that can be healed.

I have a question for anyone in the comments..I’m dealing with greenies for the first time after using glue on nails. I know you’re not supposed to put anything on your nails while they’re healing, so I haven’t and they’re fading pretty quick. My question is, can you still use cuticle creams/oils on the nail and cuticle while they’re healing?

part of the problem too is people are not educated on removing their own nails in case of emergencies nor do they learn I saw that during the pandemic when everything closed if you are engaging in a service but cannot consistently get that service you ask you nail tech the proper way to remove the nails instead of being upset when you do crazy stuff like super glue on your nails and can’t get them done again

Hi Anastasia! I might be late to this video, but I’m in need of help! i tried polygel yesterday, and had to remove it twice and try again. I’m using dual forms, but every time I pop a dual form off, it’s always see through, thin and flexible on where my natural nail would be on my sidewall. If I fill the dual form anymore, it will overflow. Inside the dual form, product doesn’t look thin where the sidewalls are. It’s only after I cure and take the form off. if anyone knows why this is happening I would love to know 😊

You are probably using a nail form that's too small. You'll get a better result if you go up 1 size and use a file to clean up the side walls.

  • @alessaSucre

Polygel or most gels tend to downsize or shrink after curing with a UV Lamp, so I suggest to go up one size on the dual forms and file it off on the size, use a little bit more product to see if that helps, every nail if different, just practice and you'll get there!😊

You could be pressing it down too hard. Some people have downward growing nails, so people push it down so the gel is adhered all the way to the tip of whatever free edge you have, but because of the downward edge it's actually too low. Or maybe a dual form with a higher arch might be better for your nails.
