When I was first qualified as a nail technician, I was employed in a beauty salon. I once had a mother and two daughters who booked in. Nothing wrong during the service, one of the daughters wanted XL nails. She was only 16 and i warned her it might be too long especially for her short nails, it would be too drastic of a change. She insisted so I did them for her. All three were happy with their sets but they just completely ingored me when I talked to them to till to pay. They just walked out the door without paying. The kicker was the next morning they called the salon complaining the length was too long, they weren't happy with the set and wanted them soaked off. So my boss ended up forcing them to pay for both three sets and three soak off before I removed the nails.

People like her always blame others, it is never their fault....guess what that customer is so cheap I doubt she would have done the maintenance refills, eventually after a month or so the acrylic would begin to lift, I hope moisture and bugs got trapped in the lifting and she caught a fungal infection....I doubt this customer would pay for the refills where the acrylic grows out. That customer has lots of appointments she failed to show up to on the Karma Bus.....karma will sort this dishonest scamming customer out.

I have been a Cosmetologist for 23 years. During my first year of being in my salon, I had a woman book a hair appointment with me, and it was for a perm and a trim on extremely long hair. When I had completed the service, she absolutely loved her hair and continued to tell me so, many times. She said “ Thank you so much”, stood up, and walked out of my salon without paying. I was shocked to see that someone would actually do something so rude. I went to the door and said mam several times, but she ignored me, got into her car, and drove away! As if that wasn’t wrong enough, she actually had the nerve to call a few months later to book another appointment!! I politely told her that I would never book another appointment for her, because she left without paying. She had nothing to say in return, so we both hung up the phone and that was the last I heard from her. I had a lot of people telling me this woman was telling everyone how much she loved her hair and what wonderful work I had done on her hair. I told everyone who told me she said this, that she should have loved it since she walked out without paying, this making her service free. She should absolutely love it!! That was the only time I ever experienced something like that, and I hope to never have that kind of experience again! You go girl, you did the correct thing as well! God Bless Always 🙏🏻

When the main character finally has had enough and is gonna fight him, his mentor tells him that it’s basically a favor because the borrower will never bother the main character again and it’s like the main character paid to be rid of the borrower. You were the bigger and wiser person and I think you were a pro ❤️ Normally I make sure to have written proof that I did inform them about possible issues when I accept new clients. That is ofcourse only if they request something that will not last for long 😊

She may have ‘gotten away’ with stealing from you, but as you said, your personal energy is much more valuable and she would have sucked you dry and destroyed you (I had a work colleague who terrorised me daily for 6 months until I finally quit). Well, I think you did the right way. You maintained your dignity in an impossible situation. Also, it’s best she did not become a regular customer because that type is always looking for something to get a discount or say you did something wrong or the show up late all the time. I’ve dealt with that myself and the first impulse is to just snatch their hand and cut off all the nails. But, then they’ll go around everywhere telling people how awful you are and ruin your reputation. It’s best to just get rid of them as fast as you can because who wants to be stuck with a client like that one. Peach is my favorite color. I love your nails. I would love to hear more story time. I bet you have a lot of funny and interesting 🧐 stories to tell.

It's insane how many people in the world are like that! They go through life acting like they're owed things for just existing! They want the work and the product but dont want to pay for what they receive! She probably gets a lot of meals for free by carrying a dirty bandaid in her purse! Then she places it in the food and claims it was found there! In other words shes a scammer/con artist or just a straight thief!

I’ve had a few clients who have done this Anastasia it’s so disruptive for a nail techs business, I now refuse clients anymore appointments especially when they repeat this selfish behaviour, you can’t help someone who comes with a plan to give you aggravation, customers like this are thoughtless & selfish nail techs can do without this negative energy it’s hard enough trying to build a business so dealing with people like this? I’m done with them, thank you for sharing your experience as hard as it is it teaches us something on how to stand up for ourselves & I bet no one treats you like this anymore? Cute design and I enjoyed the story time💗 that was such a terrible situation. I guess that's why nail techs now charge a deposit fee. It gives a little protection, because they are more likely to keep their appointment time ,as they made a prepayment for that time slot. At least they get some money upfront in case the client decides to be difficult.

Well.. being a nail tech myself, I would remove the nail extensions from her and all the remaining material, immediately dismiss her and never book an appointment with her. She would never leave my place without paying, let along with a brand new set of nails. There are so many people like her though. Trying to be the smartass, refusing to pay and get away with it. I have never encountered such a person myself, but the teacher I had during my basic education, taught us how to deal with such clients. So I was prepared for everything. She also taught us, how to spot the red flags, when we encounter with a toxic client for the first time. As I said, I haven't had a client refusing to pay. However, I've had one (she came to me for the first time) that said that she's forgotten to make a withdrawal from the bank. She told me to wait for her, as she had her ATM card, so she would go and do the withdrawal after the appointment. Of course I went with her, pretending that I was going out anyways, so she wouldn't have to come back. And so we did. I wouldn't know if she was going to come back, so I think I did the right thing. But I would NEVER allow a stranger, come into my workplace, have their nails done and leave without paying. I would never accept a client who is running late and of course I would never be rolled over for absurd demands. If the client wants to have her nails done by me, she has to respect my work, my time, my boundaries and of course me as a human.

She calls me late, i cant remember the time but it was dark out and says i have somewhere to be, i need you, i need you, well the need didnt involve paying me. I clipped off her nail tips, down to the nubs and i took my e file and I made deep slashes into the gel on her nail beds, i gave her no part of my work to enjoy and then i left. Her husband was downstairs waiting so trust me she had no time for anything but showing off that mangled mess
