thanks for continuing reacting to Angelina. But I think you need to fast forward to her latest performances, as there are already 200+ performances on youtube and other platforms. Up till now there has been very little promotion of her talent due to her families request to let her finish school, which she has now done, so now we all need to promote her " now" talent she released an EP call OLD ENOUGH 6 songs all of which were absolutely great my favorite is Good In Goodbyes, which i think is a lyrical masterpiece. but to get her to where we all want to see her, she needs to be promoted as she is now, so she does have sellout performances & tv appearances, therefor you need to react to this EP so your followers will add to her following, you will find it on her official you tube channel ps you can always go back & react to the young Angelina

What impressed me about this, besides her awesome singing, is that she pays more attention to Rosie than the toys Rosie is handing her.

I'm enjoying your journey through Angelina's Wonderland of Music. Many of us have enjoyed watching so many take this journey and we often are excited watching and envy those discovering her through the first journey. We relive our excitement with each one. And I really appreciate how much thought and insight you put into your reactions to her. She is such a multi-layered person and artist that requires deep understanding and expression of those layers. While many just play the videos for views and hits, I feel you are really learning about, absorbing and expressing those layers and the intricacies that are Angelina's. A little 8-year-old girl says "When I was very young." That bit always gets me! What also gets me is how this little girl suddenly turns into a seasoned jazz singer, and then snaps back to being a little girl again. Her grandmother, Meri Zamani, was the one who loved jazz. Angelina liked the sound and sang along. The rest, as they say, is history. Moving on now to watch your reaction to Always on My Mind.

GREETINGS EARTH GUY: I understand her Iranian grandmother is the source of the jazz and so much more. Also, as a child, she performed often in simple white dresses, which I'm sure was intentional image management by her peeps.

The first know 'live' performance by her was at 1-1/2 in her mom's bed, where she sang a Whitney song while actually manipulating a hand-mic. Let that sink in for a bit, for it is the most extraordinary thing I have ever heard.

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZread. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZread went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZread. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On KZread, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. When she was a little older there's also a clip where she's talking to the musicians at a conference table, and demonstrating to the trumpet player how she wants him to play the part by imitating a trumpet. Pretty amazing.

She searched on you tube and was enthralled with Billy Holliday Ella Fitzgerald.Frank Sinatra etc SheWhen she went to school a after school music school heled her with music composition etc but no voice teacher as they believed that would harm her natural style and technique She taught herself

She stated in an interview with Nadia Neophytou of 'American Songwriter', 'I have to say if it wasn't for the unconditional love that came from Bille Holiday's legendary music, there would not be Angelina Jordan today'. She went on to add, 'I am very blessed that her music found me very early'. She places no other great singer on that level of the musical pedestal and confirms that Billie is her one and only, true musical mentor. Billie was the greatest inventive, improvisational singer of all time and brought so many unique elements of musicality to the fore, that 'luckily' Angelina was able to inject into her singing.

People in the comments keep mentioning the microphone that was handed to Angelina at 1 1/2 years old. My question is, what was it doing there in the first place? Who was the singer in the family? I remember seeing a video when Angelina was very young and Sara was helping her remember some lyrics by singing them along with her. Has no one ever wondered why there just happened to be a microphone in the house? I mean, it surely wasn’t because Sara thought her infant daughter was suddenly going to burst into song. There’s a recent video of Sara and Angelina singing together in the car, and their voices are eerily similar, just sayin’.

But the other children did not look Norwegian, it looked like demographics that could be somewhere in California, Texas or the Southwest USA. Now I recall that they were in the United States when she was that age for a couple years.

There is a clip of her singing with a karaoke mike at exactly 18 months old. The astounding thing is her mike technique. Head goes back arm goes out eyes shut. Then when she finishes she gets self concious and puts both arms above her head like a ballerina pose. Its confounding. I do not believe in reincarnation. At least I think I don't.

I have seen this video many times and what is impressing me most is that you can see so clearly how Angelina is totally "into the song" when she sings. Before and after the performance she is that little girl. All these video's are a treasure. Not just for us to enjoy it but especially for Angelina herself in the future, as she is at a moment in life that she can look back at what she has achieved so far and how she did it. And it is her Grandma, Mery Zamani, in the first place who is making many wonderful short video's since Angelina started singing. And yes, she was very, very little at the time she first started to sing a melody you can recognize as a song.... even before she could talk properly. It is so special to see that early beginning (it is even on KZread to watch...). What I do not like on this video is the host. She is a bit sarcastic without any reason.

In a very real sense, music is more her native language than either Norwegian or English. It has arguably been more of a constant in her life than either of those languages. (She was born in Oslo and presumably spoke Norwegian first, but there is good evidence, IMO, that she was learning English at the same time [and not just through song lyrics]. She then lived in the U.S. for a significant amount of time before moving to the Middle East [with perhaps at least one other place somewhere in there]. Eventually she moved moved back to Oslo, probably specifically for the purpose of starting primary school there [she was definitely there by 7]. Then when she was 12 she moved back to the U.S., where she has lived ever since. Given this history of living in different places with different official / most common languages - not to mention the 3 or more other languages spoken by her mother, father, and grandparents - it is not surprising that she doesn't sound entirely like a native English speaker to native English speakers, nor entirely native Norwegian to native Norwegians. But I'm reasonably sure that other "musical natives" recognize her as one of their own.😊)

Parents, grandparents... many notes about her Grandmother, but also her Grandfather who passed away a couple of years ago. This music was being played around the house, apparently constantly.

Angelina's shown nervousness on-camera during an early-summer performance of FEELING GOOD at Allsang På Grensen, about age ?? 10 ?? A few months later, she did a slicked-up, brassy band version without that. But in this earlier live performance, I see her eyes uncertain 'where to look', and outdoor performances are sometimes difficult because there are thousands of fans to see with all their signs and hand-waving. In a TV studio, the audiences can be hidden in darkness. I think that's why her eyes appear to wander in this outdoor performance. But midway, she catches fire and enjoys the power of a full-view audience. Their excitement engulfs her and this version's climatic ending is more powerful than lhe later, slicked up TV studio version.

Yes, her grandmother Refer to jazz she’s from Moran, but she loved jazz. Introduced Angelina and she loved the sound of which is unusual for a child like jazz but she did.
