Could this be Karen’s daughter? Karen LOVED touring in Japan. What IF this was her daughter that she had to give up because of show business etc? The vocal inflections are Karen’s. That is an inherited trait. She also brings children out to sing like Karen did.

Her lower register is brilliant. That was Karen Carpenter’s strength and she does it really well.

Listen without watching the start of Yesterday Once More, was almost a perfect match. She is pretty good.

I always loved Karen's voice. While it's no match it is insanely very close to her. Karen's voice will never be duplicated. But give credit where it's due.

y'all are so rude. of course she doesn't sound exact we all have different voices but she is the closest match and has an accent ! it's beautiful

If she spoke perfect English, it would be a dead ringer for Karen Carpenter. It’s perfect, except for the English dialect.

It difficult to sing in a completely different language and do it justice. In Japanese she shines The orchestra does amazing arrangement.

I think it's a testament to how much of an influence Karen and Richard have on the world as a whole, when you have vocalists from other countries come along and pay homage to their work to the point of almost sounding like the genuine article.

It's not low baritone - it's low alto, aka contralto, which is equivalent to HIGH baritone...

This made me cry.

She has a beautiful voice! She is in the similar range as a Contralto like Karen but she can't completely pull it off. You often see Japanese singers nowadays who sound like they could speak perfect English, but can't. Mostly from mimicry and autotune. Karen had such perfect pitch and control, you knew and heard every word she sang. We will be hard pressed to find someone with her talents anytime soon.

Very very nice. I love that she sings Sing in Japanese, just like Karen did. I recently saw/heard Tori Holub and she not only has the voice down pretty well, she can run the mixer and does the overdubbing. This woman named Sinon who sings for a Carpenters cover band called the Oncemores does a pretty good job of replicating Karen's voice. Also there's a singer named Harriet that's somewhat similar, her channel name is HarrietsMusic.

Has nothing to do with the county. No one I've ever heard in the US can sound exactly like Karen either. She just had a one in a billion kind of voice.

I’m curious - so how loud can Keiko sing? Because didn’t Karen sing very softly, to the point where people couldn’t hear her if she didn’t have a mic?
