‘She’s unhinged.' New footage shows Charles Vallow’s concern for Lori Vallow

GILBERT, Arizona - Newly released police body camera footage and 911 calls outline how Charles Vallow, Lori Vallow Daybell’s former husband, pleaded with officers to get his wife help.
Footage from the morning of Jan. 31, 2019, shows Vallow talking with Gilbert Police officers outside a hotel about how his wife lost touch with reality. She was expressing strange beliefs and telling people she knew when the Second Coming of Jesus Christ would be happening.
“I tried to support her as much as I could, but it’s gotten really bad lately,” Vallow told officers. “She’s had a break. Says I’m Nick Schneider, I’ve taken over Charles’s body and Charles had been killed.”
It’s unknown who Schneider is but Vallow says Daybell wants him dead, a story he told officers hours earlier after arriving home from a business trip.

“I never thought she would do anything like this, but she’s just lost touch with reality,” Vallow said. “She’s unhinged. It scares the crap out of me.”
Vallow told police in the earlier exchange that Daybell considered herself a translated being and a God who spoke with an ancient prophet and Jesus Christ daily. He said her strange religious views were several years in the making but became increasingly worse.
RELATED | Body camera footage shows Charles Vallow telling police his wife wanted him dead
Vallow said Daybell told him, “I can murder you now with my powers.”
Since meeting with police that night, Vallow said he found Daybell’s car at the parking lot of a school where she dropped of their son Joshua “JJ” Vallow. While there, Vallow said he took Daybell’s keys, phone and wallet.
Vallow said a hotel key in her wallet helped him find her and he wanted to get Daybell picked up on a court order for her to receive a mental health examination.
An officer told Vallow they could not go into the hotel and check on Daybell if employees did not want them to. She said a sergeant with proper paperwork would need to come to the hotel and have Daybell admitted for a psychological evaluation.
“I don’t want her hurt. I don’t want her to hurt anyone else,” Vallow said. “Her religious stuff has gone way off the deep end.”
Police tell Vallow his main focus should be on the safety on JJ.
“If you don’t feel comfortable with her state of mind, then maybe figure out a way to keep him safe even if that means not being at school,” an officer tells Vallow.
The officer advises Vallow to not take JJ out of state too long and reminds him there are two sides to every story.
Later in the day, Daybell, Tylee and their friend, Melanie Gibb, visit the Gilbert Police Department to file a report against Vallow. Daybell corroborates that Vallow took her phone, keys and wallet and she says she just wants her property back.
“During my contact with Lori, I found her to be in a normal state of mind but only slightly upset she did not have her property,” a Gilbert officer wrote in a police report. “Lori showed no signs of mental distress as she described what was occurring and appeared to be in a good mood. Talking with Lori`s daughter and friend, they did not seem concerned for anything other than Lori getting her property back.”

I know!! I understand there are laws the officers have to go by. But this is a example of how laws need to be changed. Sadly domestic violence is 2 words one uses to their advantage, to get away with their own wrongful actions and agendas. This man here is being respectful and literally begging for help. I understand a lot of cases as this more so than not are civil and not dangerous. But also by watching this man call Police 2 times and trying his best to explain a crazy story for help is not taken seriously by not even one Official‼️ We need new laws that cases as this be looked into seriously especially when there are children involved! Does anyone notice Charles is not so concerned about the material things or money as much as his child? This man tried‼️‼️ Now he is dead‼️‼️ The 2 children are dead‼️ only if he was taken seriously‼️ This could of been maybe prevented‼️ Goes to show every situation is different and this man did everything he could to get help, with no one taking him serious. Now everyone sees how serious he was and how he did everything he could to prevent the horrible outcome‼️ I pray that our Country can get some kind of law in place that calls as this are taken very seriously and that we can have a Law that can go further to protect people from death‼️‼️ I myself on a different situation begged Officials for help, to only be told there is nothing legally that can be done. I suffer today along with my family because legally nothing could be done. My heart is so heavy knowing that if there were new or different Laws for certain situations to be taken very seriously, lives would not be lost‼️‼️

Now, if they would have looked into the situation they would have seen alex’s history of threats and violence and they would have seen the reports of these situations. Then all of these deaths could have been avoided. But, maybe they did look into it and that would be even worse because Alex was never charged and then conveniently died. Either way it’s lazy and bad police work. I hope these officers will be held accountable for such an enormous mishandling.

I believe that Tammy Daybell was poisoned, and I suspect Alex committed suicide by poisoning himself when he learned that Tammy Daybell’s body had been exhumed. So if the police had acted to help a Charles when he asked for help, maybe these five other people would still be alive. The cops are already distracted and leaving at the end of the video. Alien There are plenty of subcultures in our huge country and people don’t need to be part of a religious organization to fall into the many groups that form and thrive. There are people everywhere who are too naive and trusting of manipulative individuals who fit their picture of accepted outward appearance and behavior. Children need to be taught. I know plenty of members of the church that Lori, Chad and Charles originally were members of. Most of the people I’ve known have been kind, reasonable and intelligent. Lori and Chad are selfish and sick-minded. If the emphasis is on appearance , there is nothing left eventually to support the illusion.

Hate to say it but domestic cases are a nightmare for LE officers. Both sides hurling accusations, often the same accusations. He said/she said. Years ago I call the police to report an obscene repeat stalker/caller. I was told they could do nothing without proof of threat - text, email, recording or they hear it in person. Incredibly frustrating but legal fact. So they are left with no choice but stay professional & document information. Many regular folks who don't have a clue about LE procedure perceive this as "not caring". Think about how absurd the following would be, "What?!!! You're saying your wife threatened you?!! Dang! Let's go arrest her right away!" It just doesn't work that way. On the other hand I feel strongly these officers should have gone a bit more proactive for a different reason. He told them he was concerned for the safety of his son with special needs. To me that's huge! Now he and the kids & others are dead because the overburdened, sluggish system can't quickly discern who the real bad guys are. Combine this with a relatively rapid unfolding of events in several interstate jurisdictions plus the unbelievably bizarre twists & not-so coincidences of a whacked out extended family nightmare - the result? Carnage & tragedy. It's so goofy & stupid a writer in Hollywood would have the script thrown out & asked not to return. Alas truth is stranger than fiction. I think that's why the Cohen Brothers movies are so popular. They get it. "No Country for Old Men" - Tommy Lee Jone's aging sheriff character perpetually unable to overtake a chaotic fast paced situation. He's a veteran cop sure. But he's still a human being & fallible. NOT Superman. Imagine how gut wrenching it must be for a serial killer task force knowing in the back of their minds they may have to wait for other innocents to die before they can zero in.

It's obvious the only person concerned at all was this man. Everyone failed him. His wife, the police, even Mr. Know it all with the INSIGHT. (That old Dragon himself, Chad Daybell) What a shame. The only sane person in this crowd. You see why they thought they had to do away with him. There should be NO DOUBT in anyone's mind that his death was a made up story, and a lie. I wouldn't want to be in Alex Cox's shoes right now. Too late for him to repent...I wonder if Chad didn't poison him the same way he poisoned his wife, Tammy. I'm sure Alex was getting a cut of the million, from Charles' insurance., for killing him. Both were foaming at the mouth. Wake up Lori. You failed your children, your husband, your brother, AND YOUR GOD! ...ALL for a man...

Why? The police did nothing wrong. They followed the law. They helped him as much as the law allowed them to. If you do not like the laws then get involved in changing them. The police get very frustrated with the laws that they are restrained by. They want to do more but they are not allowed to.

@@dragonflypromoise7774 no they didnt. There were signs left and right. Charles even shared info with them about her avoiding a mental illness inpatient treatment she was forced to do if she did not want to loose custody of the kids....and her and her brother plotted to have him killed and then when Alex did kill him, they still did not follow up with the mental inpatient she was supposed to get...and not only that, they didnt really do anything in the case to investigate..listen to Alex's 911 call and Lori's and TYLEE going to the police station after Charles died.....then lori carried on with no cares in the world and had a pool party that same night.....they dropped the ball and should most definitely be held accountable...by them not doing their jobs, Charles lost his life, Tyleee and JJ are dead....if they would have forced her to do the mandatory inpatient mental evaluation, the doctors would have seen how off the deep end lori was and the nut job religious beliefs she had and could have saved 3 lives....so yeah they most definitely should be held accountable

Gosh I stopped video to reply on a comment. Now I’m watching as Charles as anyone can see is in a very emotional state!! He is doing everything he can to get help and for Authorities. to listen and please help him. Surely one of these cops can see he is panicking over his child and everything. He is so afraid and the female Officer just told him they have to wait! Dear God can officers please listen to people especially when a child is involved!! I would really think at least one Officer is listening and thinking this man is seriously in a panic for help. Surely a officer can in one way or another do everything in their control to seriously look into what the situation is! I wonder how every single Officer that met Charles feels now that he is dead, by killing with a gun!! Also now the children Charles was so worried about are now found dead!? I’m really curious how the ones that went to the 911 calls by Charles feel and I pray that they ask themselves what could they have done differently to help this deadly situation that evidently was not taken SERIOUSLY‼️‼️‼️

@@MultiPetercool Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints do not have a system in place where "high ranking Mormons" can only go in the temple. All you have to do is be a member of the church and obtain a recommend, in which YOU tell the bishop if YOU think YOU are worthy or not to enter the temple. If you have any questions I am more than happy to answer them. Chad and Lori were both excommunicated from the LDS church as they both did blasphemous things inside of the temple.

Looks like the Woodcocks have the basis for a lawsuit when they are able, and ready. I would pursue that out of principle. This man was emotionally abused, and manipulated by this psychopath. She used those children like pawns, and wielded them over his head. Sad part is that he genuinely worried for Lori.
