Aang is such a goofy character so when you actually get to see him do some really powerful stuff it’s so cool. Katara having that realisation at the end was magic

Aunt Wu's wording was deliberate: She did not say he volcano wouldn't erupt. She said the village wouldn't be destroyed by the volcano And it wasn't

You forget sometimes because we're so focused on him having to master 3 other elements, but the end here drives it home: Aang truly has *mastered* Airbending at his young age. Being a master and acquiring his tattoos at that age makes him an obvious child prodigy.

Love this episode, the part where Katara realizes Aang is a powerful bender is just 🤌

This has one of my favorite exchanges in the show when that guy asks Sokka, “can your science explain why it rains?” And Sokka screams at him “YES! YES IT CAN!!”. I love my boy Sokka.

“Floozy” gets me EVERY TIME 🤣🤣

Meng was designed by Dave Filoni who is also a director on Avatar. Meng is also voiced by Jessie Flower,

One of my favorite moments is that moment at the end when Aang stands like a boss and katara realizes the possibility that Aang is probably the one for her

Fun fact: firebending is adapted from Northern Shaolin Style Kung Fu. Earthbending is adapted from Hung Gar, Waterbending from Tai Chi, and Airbending from Baguazhang. you can see them doing actual martial art moves. I love the fight scenes so much. so much attention to detail and pays homage to Chinese martial arts and culture

I mean Aunt Wu was technically correct lol. She didn’t predict the volcano would erupt, but she predicted that the village **would not** be destroyed by the volcano. Which is what happened because Aang saved them lol

The fortune telling episode made me to see how powerful aang was

Volcanic activity involving the extrusion of rock tends to form mountains or features like mountains over a period of time.

Most of the people in the town repay Aunt Wu with food or favors. Aunt Wu has lived in the town for 20 years.

The ash from volcanoes can almost be as dangerous as the lava itself. The ash is similar to the black snow that rained down on the Water Tribe village when the Fire Nation arrived. Wind can carry ash from volcanoes thousands of miles.

Regarding the red shoes example, well, that’s kind of how magic works. If all the man knows about the thing he wants to come true is that he’ll be wearing red shoes when it DOES, then he’s going to wear red shoes every day. Action -> attraction. If he never wears red shoes, then it will never come true.

10:29 aang can just float up a mountain with air bending while sokka has to actually climb. Sokka is quite competent for a guy with no bending ability

zuff being a zutara shipper was not on my bingo card but im here for it 💀 idk why the fandom is so touchy about it tho, aang and katara just dont have the chemistry needed for me to ship them heavily lol i do support it tho but only because i just love aang and katara not because i think they should be together 🤷🏽‍♀️

I love that y'all ship Zutara lmao, I love Aang but I always thought he felt too child-like & pre-pubescent for Katara, who's technically almost grown/of age to marry. the chemistry between Katara & Zuko, if done right, would have been ASTRONOMICAL. like, world changing. I have spent *half my life* thinking about how things might have been lol

I understand that but that is exactly why I personally always felt Aang and Katara belong together. They are the reincarnation of what the other lost. I will also mention that I could never see katara living in a nation that killed her mother and tortured her people which she would have to with Zuko. I feel that they bring out the negative aspects of each other. This is just my opinion and why how even though I get where you feel that I cannot personally be sold completely on Zutara

She helped politicians but wasn’t like sokka who wanted to actually lead and she seems to really like a life of adventure flying around, experiencing new things and helping people along the way. katara is actually quite adventurous and aang really encourages/supports that part of her which is great because after all that she’s been through i feel like sometimes people adultify katara too much but she is a kid too.

@@nanie56 exactly. I believe Katara and Azula are close in age so that’s why I always felt Zuko treated her like Azula and then grew to care for her like the sister he could have had in Azula. I get it if not everyone feels that’s correct that’s just me. I also think Azula killing Aang really stopped her from expressing her love for him because she realized how just like her mother she could lose him.

@@jasminedragon7360I agree and there’s a video somewhere on KZread about katara being azula’s foil in the story so your definitely not alone, I think that was one of the points in the video. Azula killing aang definitely made katara more uncertain about approaching her feelings I mean the war/ firenation caused her to loose her mom, dad and part of her childhood then the avatar her literal hope for the world and best friend who she starts to develops feelings for is shot down in front of her it makes sense she would wait until she felt safe. Also she never verbalizes romantic feelings for anyone in the show, even jet, katara shows her feelings through body language, facial expressions and a hat that funnily enough aang ends up wearing the whole time.
