Not only would I have slapped the hell out of that so called bestie, and thrown some kind of drink in the mothers face but I would have slapped the hell out of my so called boyfriend too. It’s Asian culture from one generation to another. This might just be a movie but it happens. It’s reflects the norms & values. Asian parents have a major say whether they approve the match or not. We believe in being blessed or cursed. Being disowned by one’s family for the choices made is an Asian reality. It’s not all but predominantly speaking, yes… It happened to my uncles and aunts, cousins and us. It’s an ongoing thing. We don’t talk back at our parents & maintain harmonious relationships with cousins too.

We’re not rich nor were we poor but parents wanted their children to marry well requiring that the person of interest is college graduate, wealthy and a pedigree of some sort. I don’t need anyone to tell me. I grew up in that environment. By the way, I’m 61 now. I know what I’m talking about, okay?

@@cristamagsee6206 if that happened in your family and that you're asian doesn't mean that it happens to all asian and so it isn't asian culture.It's just something that parents do when they like someone for their child.It doesn't happen often now at all and only a few parents do it because parents wish for their child's happiness.Arrange marriage is something not good at all especially when you don't love someone because you won't be happy,when it was done because of business,etc.Marrying someone you love will always be the best option☺️

who needs enemies when you have a best friend like yours. She is a huge red flag and you need to get rid of her. Best friends would never say something like that. If you continue to keep her as your best friend, it will be your fault in the future with other boyfriends. she will never support you but instead try to take them away.

@@puananihoku7302 I completely agree! I had a friend who was like that. She was always saying things like “oh I used to like him” or “he used to like me” whenever I thought someone was attractive. At first it seems like their looking out for you but then you start seeing it how it actually is!

One time a boy liked me,but we were both super shy so we never talked to eachother n my bestie n my cousin had a crush on him, my cousin just blamed me n hated me for it, but my bestie just laughed it off n only cutely complained to me. I liked that boy too but since my bestie liked him i didn't say anything n told her i don't like him so she can court him (or whatever they called😂), so after sometime they ended up being in a relationship. She always told me their convo in exact details, which hurt a little but i'm wayyy more happy for her. Till now she never know i liked him too then.
