Am facing similar problem,my late dad was a police officer serving in nasarawa an we,re just three my elder me an my younger sister during that time Wei our late dad was sick my elder brother said he don't have any money I Clair the hospital an when he died our elder brother claim he don't any money for anything I was even the one that send transport money for him an his family to transport their self in nasarawa state but to my greatest surprised if I ask him about the money he will tell me that he,s just looking at me bcoz am just a mere woman but the Wei I spend my hard earn money to cover our shame my brother doesn't know that am a woman.

Same thing happened in 2013 when brekete family helped us recovered our fathers money. My elder brother said we are women and will be given nothing from our fathers money.

Family issues regarding inheritance is difficult to settle. Especially, when male and female are involved. I think this would had been better handle by the ordinary President who understood much about tradition and culture. This case need one with experience, and wisdom.

@@AbuAbdillahQuillpen In Islam, it is spelt out clearly. However, it's not so, based on the way Christianity is practised in many places. Tradition overrides, except in cases where a will has been drawn out by the deceased. I'm happy she sorted for an off-media coverage of the resolution of the case. What they needed to do is to put her in the picture of everything happening. And appreciate her effort if she is married. If not married, she will fully benefit from the inheritance based on the decision reached by the family. You may wish to find out so as to confirm. Luckily the Ordinary President is a man of great knowledge.

The idea of using the money to complete their late father house is not a negative idea. If only some of them will not conspired to inflate the price of the expenditure of completing the building. Because the way I am listening to the man on jeans trouser (i.e. the road safety Corp officer) to be sincere that guy is not behaving as a responsible man in that family, he doesn't want to carry everyone along. Which is very wrong. They should be truthful to themselves. Don't inflate the price of completing the building, finished the building first and the remaining balance can be shared among them. I am a police officer, listening to this matter, I am suspecting conspiracy against other members of the family. Those who are in charge of the money should be careful. To avoid the anger of their late father towards them, they should do everything in orderly manner and avoid cheating. That is my advise to the entire family.

Jobless men saw money, instead of them to look for businesses to do and earn a living, and probably complete the house project in hear future with their business proceeds, but they rather want to complete the house and be lazying around the house with their jobless selves......

I don’t think that this should be necessary for legally married couples since the bible says one plus one in marriage is one, therefor in my own opinion this law should be and must be reviewed .They should not encouraged Separation in marriage because going through the process of renewal takes time and resources , not everyone can get through this successfully.
