This kind of male hatred is really truly damaging. I went through a 7 year period where I thought I was a trans woman because I thought all men were disgusting, evil, violent and bad. I thought of myself as a good person and therefore I must be a woman. I attempted suicide 14 times and was hospitalized twice. I was pumped full of way more medication than my young body should have been subjected to because I wanted to kill myself so badly for not being feminine enough. People don't realize that generalizing all men as bad has real, tangible, awful effects. I detransitioned and I'm so much happier now that I've accepted that I can be a man and still have value as a person. But if I had just known that from the beginning I wouldn't have had to endure 7 years of pain and self hatred. No one should go through that. It's a sheer matter of luck, and maybe a divine plan if you believe in that, that I'm still alive. I'm not going to say that a few words can kill someone, but if damaging things are said that often and that aggressively, they can.

I agree that it’s definitely not ALL men, but the problem lies within 1) the intention of those people who say “not all men” and 2) the fact that it is not just 1 out of the bunch, if that’s true, I wouldn’t be receiving news notification of 13-14 y/o girls getting gang-r@ped in cemeteries, forests and such everyday. An example for (1), for every news of women dying or injured because of r@pe, assault, trafficking, domestic abuse: there will always be like at least 20 people coming up to say “not all men”. The point is not that they’re wrong, it’s just that it’s disrespectful that they care more about the reputation of men than what actually happened to the victims and.. what’s the point of pointing that out? The news are clearly about a multitude of men, not all of men. This is difficult for most people to understand so let me just put it this way: the next time a strange man follows and stalks you, keep saying to yourself “not all men” and see how well it turns out for you. Probably the same people saying “not all men” are also the ones to blame victims for not running away, call for help or fight back.

And if you disagree, you're a problematic bigot.

@@ootdega I think I would never got that because of the wording. Thx for clearing that up. I personally think that Twitter have successfully amplified the opinions of very reactive people, which creates this growing community of like-minded people who do the same. These people didn't just convinced themselves to act like this, this type of behaviour have been popularized and exacerbated in the Twitter platform, making that behavior more socially acceptable in the Twitter realm. Basiaclly, this isn't a new thing. There have always been people who are easily offended and very sensitive. There have always been people who dpesn't want to deal with their own problems, so they solely rely on others to fix them. It only becomes an issue when people have joined forces to shame/ridicule others on the same platform with them for not agreeing with them. This is entirely human nature and it's also how communities become bad. We're just unlucky that a certain community have become popular enough to be the defining toxic community of Twitter that we know today. This is why it's important to just switch off of Twitter (or any toxic community) if you can't deal with them, while also finding better internet communities to be a part of. P.S. Not trying to criticize you anyway, I'm just expressing my opinion on the matter.
