@@inmyopinion302 WFM is a title won by competing in women's only tournament. There is generic chess tournament (open for both men and women) and women only chess tournament. There is no men only tournament. It has nothing to do with misogeny. Since way more men are interested in chess it may be pretty tough mentally for women to get into sport with so many men. Women's chess community is tiny. It's nice to have chess tournaments just for women to promote chess among them.

@@sxanep i personally think the concept of female only titles is too condescending. Only works as promotion for women until they learn what these titles are really about, and if you wanna see the best players, male or female, you have to look at those that have the grown-up titles without the W on them. If anything, they may have the opposite effect and be somewhat discouraging

I've never played chess seriously. I know all the rules. I understand tactics. I only know one opening. I don't know any endgames. I never got out of the beginner stage, but I think I could. It sure would be fun to play against Anna, or Andrea Botez, or Alex Botez, and have them recognize you as a beginner or weak player, and help you through it, coaching you like you are a little kid.
Anna is not only extremely good at chess, but she can also make someone lose and still enjoy it.

I like that Anna “went easy” while still clearly being within a move or two of check mate pretty quick. It led to a lovely conversation.

I have been playing chess for many years, and for the last decade or so, just killing time with games, but you, Anna, and your lovely family, have reinvigorated my interest in playing a more thoughtful game, thank you. I just love the energy and enthusiasm you bring to the grand old game.
Anna seems so friendly and genuine, you probably don't notice how she's battering you on the board until it's far too late. Philadelphia walked into a trap here!

I'm not a chatty type but I appreciate an occasional chat with a stranger with similar interests. Sometimes it is extremely refreshing. It stays with you forever.

I find Anna's videos strangely calming and settling. I thoroughly enjoy them. Upvoted, shared and, as always, happily subscribed. PS: I really like the ones with Mom as well.
When I was in H.S. & for a few years before I got there several guys would play chess in the library over lunch break or on free periods & the library wall that separated it from the hall was glass & loads of kids would stand in the hall & some in the library & watch it was pretty crazy seeing all these 15-18 year olds watching other kids play chess.
Christina had a delightful personality! Do she and her friend know they're the feature attractions in your video? Nice to see people acting so friendly to each other. Lots of fun episode. Great idea!
I REALLY hope one of her friends sees this video and freaks out sayin "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO YOU JUST PLAYED??!!"

Chess brings people together, I am an American and was traveling through budapest, I sat down to play an old man in the park for a few hours, after the game he gave me a tour of the city, teaching me how to get around on the trolly, took me to his favorite pub, and now we are friends, I go visit him almost every year. I love these awesome chess encounters!
you have a so nice hability to create empaty with all the people you play with, and it's also a really nice to watch you playing while you have these conversations with them
I really really hope that Christina practices and that she and Anna meet again in a year's time.

But this is the amazing thing about chess is it brings people together from around the world. The rules are the same everywhere, and anyone can play it maybe after age 6 or 7.

Clock was pointless anyway as she was only a beginner, or at beginner level.
This might be Anna's best game ever. Not from a chess strategy standpoint.... but from a humanity standpoint. Fun game. Fun to watch.
This is incredible. Basic human interaction is such a lost art, but greatly appreciated.

I sit and play chess with my senior residents (and lose frequently,) but Anna's videos have helped me regain some ground and even out the board!
Imagine what Pennsylvania Girl will think when she sees herself her and figures out who Anna is.
I was a tournament player many years ago, but I quit in favor of grad school. I can't begin to say how gratifying it is to see so many talented women playing now. What does surprise me, though, is the across the board chat, especially from some of the men Anna plays! The script hasn't changed in half a century.
