Reminds me of that Home Depot cashier, who actually believed she was having a relationship with a plastic surgeon. She was even looking for wedding dresses. When she found out through Catfished that he was a scammer, but that there WAS a plastic surgeon whose name and picture he used, she wanted the real plastic surgeon to be on the show, to "Give HIS input; to tell HIS 'side' of the story." But it's human nature for our minds to protect us from overwhelming information like that. Like when someone dies. The first thing a human does is not believe it. Denial. "No! No that can't be true! I'm slightly older than either of you, not by much, but I've been using computers since the 70s. *deeply rooted delusions of grandeur. That's what it really is 80% of the time. The other 20% is trauma, grief, or mental disability.

I don't think it would be beneficial bc some ppl are naturally suspicious of and defensive around psychologists. But yeah the victims definitely need some mental health help.

Absolutely! Some of these people are very lonely and desperate for a relationship that they fall into this delusion. They should be offered some sort of help by a certified lisenced psychologist

I asked the same question couple months ago when an old lady in her 60s gave away her life savings (around 100k in conversion) to a scammer pretending to be JD. A minor detail, this happened in Brazil.

Imo, she appears to be addicted to prescription pain pills. Makes sense considering her neck surgeries and bone issues.

She said if she meets him she’s gonna ask if she can have her NDT so she can bring it to the hospital… She has no idea what she even paid for.
