Bro John Davey looking like he made a couple of pitstops at a beer and burger joint along the way. RIP Les Tremayne aka Mentor.

We had the best Saturday morning lineup by far.
In 1974 I was 5 yrs old & in kindergarten. I absolutely loved Shazam. It was my favorite show on Saturday mornings. I can remember my mom made me a Cape close to what Shazam wore in the show. I wore that cape everywhere we went & I would sit in the shopping cart as my mom pushed it, & I would make the air noise like I was flying & hold my arm out in front of me & act like I was flying. GREAT GREAT SHOW...EVEN BETTER MEMORIES!!! I also love: Land Of The Lost BigFoot & Wildboy Ark 2 Isis Elecrta Woman Six Million Dollar Man The Bionic Woman Just to name a few shows I loved & still remember. Much love from Mobile Alabama.
Captain Marvel was So Handsome. He could rescue me anytime.😍😍😍
Lmao the flying sound affect

Before Shazam, Billy Batson a few years younger met with Marcia Brady on the Brady Bunch as a school student.

I loved this show as a child. Specifically I was 2-3 years old.
It may look cheesy by today's standards, but Filmation ruled Saturday mornings in the 1970's. Those times will never be here again.

I'm 51 years old and i remember it being cheesy then. There was way better stuff than that. It's not so much as much as technology as it is with hard work,research and creativity. And this show had none of those.
@jimhoff5836

@@LePageChannel Bullshit. This was far more creative and better produced than prime time shows like 60s Batman or the Six Million Dollar Man with ITs cheesy "slow motion fx". Neither of them were even close to the quality of this show. Considering the budget they had, Filmation delivered some decent fx, like the transformation to Captain Marvel. Eps like "The Joyriders" had good action & real danger, with a moral at the end. Land of the Lost, also produced for Saturday mornings in '74 looked terrific for a Saturday morning show back then, but of course after almost 50 years, the shows are showing their age. Nothing with low budget pro social shows done right.

@Power106Fan yes I stand by that because that show was shot on a low budget for kids in the 70's using practical effects... Today they use CGI that everybody can see is not real... nor looks realistic like (the infinity war). Shows who keep it more realistic and practicalbare like The Mandalorian which uses practical effects but they have a better budget but it looks more real than the MCU.
I especially loved the moral compass message end of each show. The one on bullying and it's devastating effects is still so very relevant.
@mysteriomarvel933

Yes I agree I loved the filmation studio TV shows on Saturday Mornings. The positive morals and message after every show to teach children right from wrong and the potential dangers they could be faced with. Looking back it's certainly cheesy and low budget but any 70s kid who grew up with this show and others like it will certainly smile and wax nostalgic viewing it today.

HERE IS WHY JACKSON WAS FIRED.... Shame on the studio.... Jackson Bostwick was fired from "Shazam!" two episodes into Season 2 and replaced with John Davey. Bostwick had sustained an injury during filming, went for medical treatment, and was advised to stay home a few days to recuperate. However, producers mistakenly accused him of holding out for a higher salary.
Still better than 2019's Captain Marvel
R.I.P. Les Tremayne

Some of the best acting I've ever seen.Must have received a shitload of academy awards .Hard to tell its not real life.😮

lmao that girl in the balloon was so unfazed by literally everything happening i'm trapped in a floating device and can't get down a man in spandex flies up to bring me back down to earth flatly: captain marvel! emmy for best supporting actress lol
apparently I was easily entertained when I was 5-6 years old, lol. These are gold! Wish I could once again see the world now as I saw it then.
Captain Marvel saves Lt. Bidel of Barnaby Jones.
I love how they turned the baby lion and Jackson Bostwick playing sequence into a battle royal life and death incident.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣FILMATION 4EVER.
They must have spent the series entire budget on that drilling into ground scene.
Now that I have the blu-ray collection, I can live my childhood all over again.
I have this series on DVD. I'm gonna have to rewatch it .
I believe I liked the first actor to play Captain Marvel better.
Amazing how on a power level Captain Marvel can take on Superman… but he was almost overrun by a one year old lion. Shazam!
Loved this show when I was a kid. It looks chessy now but I still like it.
It was tough getting used to a transition from a slim CM to a chubby one. The budget must have been so tight that they could not redo the transformation scene with the new actor.
So he only gets involved in transportation- and animal-related emergencies?

That was exhilarating!! Just kidding: I can't believe I found this entertaining when I was a kid.
I just showed my wife who is at the tail end of generation X and I'm at the front of generation next, and I watch Shazam as a boy before she was born… and she can't believe how corny it is. Still, this was my favorite show when I was a kid.
Jackson Bostwick should've been Captain Marvel the whole time.
I’d give anything to be that 5 year old kid again watching this with a bowl of cereal on a cold Saturday morning at my grandparents house. It’ll never be that good again. Boy we really screwed up the world
