Robert Towne did such a great job writing Chinatown. I was watching The Offer the other day and theres a great scene with Robert Towne and Robert Evans discussing making Chinatown.

John, The Wangers love you, Cody literally said MANY MANY TIMES, that he is a HUGE fan of the Hot Mic. And every single time they make a little joke about John, they ALWAYS, say "Love you John". PS: And don't get me started on the John soundbytes that they play at the end of almost every episodes.

I'm not a fan of _Gladiator,_ but folks complaining about Denzel sounding too modern is lame. No one ever complains that ancient Romans aren't speaking Latin in these period films.

This is the same silly logic Bibbiani tried to use when he defended the use of the trailer song being a hip-hop song instead of an orchestral piece by claiming, “It’s not like they had film scores back then.”

I haven't noticed it being distracting in the trailers, so far, but this actually is a big problem for me with most period/locational/fantasy. I know true accuracy is out the window, but I still find out of place modern American accents incredibly distracting. Napoleon for ex. Do I want to read subtitles? No. But at least have a hint of a French accent to add some suspension of disbelief. It's a balance between realism and entertainment, but accents are easy points toward realism.

I like Jonathan Tropper books. They are pretty light and funny. Banshee is pretty good.

All that Denzel complains are just simple ass racist , none of these films have ever been accurate at all ! It’s just piecing together some facts with what looks cool and great , couldn’t care less about accuracy , it’s entertaining!

I run into problems with movies like Despicable Me 4. Obviously not made for me, but parents just let their kids treat theaters like jungle gyms. Got lucky with a midnight DM4 screening but I haven’t gone to see Inside Out 2 yet because of it and it’s a shame considering how good the first movie was.

Banshee is one of the best shows ever!!! everyone that hasn’t seen it needs to get on it ASAP. You won’t regret it.

John /Jeff- HARD disagree on how Denzel’s performance, presence will affect this movie . If having a black A-lister as a lead was non negotiable, then I would’ve preferred an actor capable of theatre type acting, and capable of performing an accurate accent…Lawrence Fishburne would’ve been SUPURB! AMAZING!

Denzel literally did MacBeth. He's more than capable if that was a directorial choice. It obviously wasn't.

Tilda Swinton as Sybill Trelawney. Ewan McGregor as Gilderoy Lockhart. Liam Neeson or Sean Bean as Alastor Mad-Eye Moody. Simon Pegg as Peter Pettigrew. Idris Elba as Remus Lupin.

X and Pearl combined to make 12 times their production budget. Maxine opened higher than both of them despite 500 less theaters than Pearl. Tracking has been wrong all year and Maxine made $1.3 million less than projected. It's still profitable already. Those are the facts.

Wtf are you talking about tracking for literally everything has been correct this yr. Ppl said fall guy & furiosa would fail and then they said Inside Out 2 would cross a billion and it did. They also predicted Dune 2 breaking $700M, they predicted Bad Boys doing well & Despicable Me also. Maxxxine underperformed what the studios expectations were so it made less $ than they expected. It doesnt matter if it made profit, Furiosa made profit but still underperformed. Ffs

Paramount+ needs to continue to expand their library IP and brand recognition. They still have some valuable IP in house. If I was calling the shots I would be creating a Dungeons & Dragons TV series (if the movies don't work out) and things like a new GI.Joe movie franchise or new animated series (Like X-Men 97'). Heck, even create a Gladiator TV series if you can, if the movie is a success. I would be looking hard at any available video game IP from the last 20 years, books (Snow Crash), scripted comedies with new online comedians, horror. It was rumored a long time ago they had kicking around the idea of a "Battlefield" TV series based on the video games, do that as an anthology series with memorable wars and theaters of conflict. Band Of Brothers style series where it follows a new platoon of a guys throughout different eras of war. That could edge in nicely with the "Americana" audience Paramount+ seems to appeal to with the Westerns like Yellowstone. Or do the same thing but slap on the "Top Gun" brand name and create a drama show following different flight students. You gotta get creative.

Ryan Reynolds and Star Wars.. wow. Now that I am thinking about it he could play a swash buckler smuggler type character like Han Solo but definitely not a Jedi. I can't picture Ryan Reynolds doing a movie where he isn't the star of it. I don't know if that's in line with the Rey movie but maybe the logic is Daisy Ridley needs another veteran actor to co-star with like Wonder Woman did with Chris Pine. I just wish Lucasfilm could pivot and deliver us a gritty Knights Of The Old Republic trilogy that's well planned out from start to finish. Let Benioff & Weiss write it and let the Russo's direct it. Teamwork to make the dream work baby.

Jeff, pay more attention to the small screen Star Wars scoops. Unfortunately it's the only action that's been happening in that franchise, so that's the news that matters. Big screen stuff is imaginary theory.

Whilst I agree that Anthony Starr would be a good fit for Star Wars, I think a Sith or Imperial would be too on the nose for him. I could see him playing like a harder edged Han Solo rogue type character. Would be much more interesting to see him play someone who's mean and rough but maybe has some heart too.

@@Randy_Richmond out of the last 13 films Denzel has been in only two are above 80% on RT. For the last decade besides Fences & Macbeth everything hes done has been trash and so have his performances. Numbers dont lie numbnuts.
