    gurnek deol A form of racism, the political correct world wanted WWE not to portray anything mildly controversial. These guys did not have a gimmick that would last forever in my opinion, but they would be over really hot for a short period.

    coolkid1901901 I think if he had made his debut a few years later (eg when the anti muslim hysteria was cooling down) the Hassan character could have worked as a face. His character was always sympathetic in his motivations. It wasn't racism that killed there careers though (in fact the heat they got from it worked to their advantage) it was WWE's stupid idea to have Hassan have what appeared to terrorists doing his bidding. The controversy from that killed his career. Not to mentioned it made no sense for his character to do that.

    Hassan and Daivari were the victims of poor timing, the London bombings and the WWE deciding to do a terrorist / martyr angle that very same night. Hassan decided to go into Real Estate I believe, but Daivari has wrestling in his blood and I can't see him doing anything else, whether he gets paid or not.

    He told the Eddie story a bit different than "Simon Dean" did. He said Eddie flipped out on Hassan and was shouting my father invented that move! Also he said Hassan was supposed to become the World Heavyweight Champion over Batista during the 4th of July week but since everyone hated him it didn't happen. I wonder if Daivari brings that up. I lost it when he mentioned the Indian with heroin and laughed even more when one of them went to the wrong arena lol.

    Muhammed Hassan had a shitload of heat but why I know kurt angle set him up with that whole protect your finisher bullshit but is there any other reason for his massive amount of heat?

  • @MrJLD94

    @MrJLD94

    9 жыл бұрын

    Joshua Hayes There are a few reasons Hassan had heat. Even though it is typical for new wrestlers to endure ribbing as sort of initiation into the locker room, Hassan got more of it than usual mainly out of jealousy from other wrestlers, because before the Muhammad Hassan gimmick came up, he was still wrestling in developmental and had only been wrestling for a few years. This made a lot of veterans in the locker room feel like he was not yet ready or deserving of the spot he had. Despite having a good look and mic skills, Hassan was still green inside the ring which made a lot of people not want to wrestle him. On top of that, they also questioned how much he respected the business as he lacked significant knowledge of its history, evidenced by him thinking the Iron Shiek invented the camel clutch and not Eddie Guerrero's father Gory Guerrero.

  • @pikkon899

    @pikkon899

    8 жыл бұрын

    Kurt didn't set him up, he most likely didn't know that Eddie's dad invented the move and it is mostly famous because the Iron Shiek used it and he used it against Hulk Hogan during Hogan's first title win. Gory Guerreo's success was mostly in Mexico and many people don't know about his NWA career or that he wrestled Lou Thesz in the 50's. Bradshaw was the one giving him the most heat. Actually, all of the newer guys who came in during this period like La Ressistance were bullied constantly by Bradshaw and thus, the rest of the locker room followed. The fact that he was also pushed very quickly was another reason. To me, that was Vince's fault as the WWE became overly patriotic during this period to the point of sheer boredom.
