i despise the idea of all these coaches teaching fullbacks to play out of the back as if they are barcelona caliber. so many giveaways. a forward's dream. this crap never happened in the 80s/90s

Because in the 80s and 90s, the level of play was laughable in America. Many argue that it still is today. Open your eyes, development and adaptations are happening to the game every day. This is (and has been for quite some time) the new age of playing.
