I’ve watched loads of your reviews. That’s the best surfing I’ve seen you do. As mentioned no down time between turns, loads of fluidity and great response and control. I watched the stab review, a guy named Kale Brock review it, both ripping on it as well. Going to get one!!!

Rented one of these from Claremont Surfshop and everything you said about this board is true… and I even rode it 2L under what I normally ride. If I get one of these Dark Arts, it’s definitely getting a mat like Surfco’s wax mat because this thing melted wax like crazy and in a short time exposed to the sun.

I've had the Inferno 72 for a few months now and I can honestly say it feels almost similar to the Disco, except faster and snappier. The similarities are the paddling power and control, but I have to say I still love the Pyzel and Firewire more, just because it's easier to paddle and more control on the speed. Maybe it's the North OC beach breaks, but I just think it's because I have a big upper body and need the extra foam near the nose, lol.

Not a big fan of dark colored decks due to heat attraction however you can customize a different color with them. You should look into Coil Industries Alien Technology out of Florida with their patented golf ball like construction because the projection is similar. Also if you've ever tried a CI MTF-A it's another amazing sprung forward surfboard due to it's tail shape!

I generally ride Epoxies a lot however I find when I have a lot of speed or the wave is on the larger side I have a hard time holding through my bottom turns and I don’t usually have that problem with my PU boards. So where does the dark arts construction land between the two?

Hey Noel. Sick review. I am trying to decide between the mini ghost or the Inferno 72. Both look super fun, but the Inferno keeps sticking out. My hang up is that I surf in really cold water so need some extra volume, therefore usually between 31 and 32 liters. That pushes me into a 6'0 Inferno or a 5'10 mini ghost. I'm 5'11 and don't love surfing boards longer than me. Should that push me into the MG or get that hangup out of my head? Plan on using from thigh high to overhead.

@Surf n Show Reviews Hi Noal, love your show. Just want to point out from a helpful place, that when you had the ruler up and pointing out the double concave, you made a big deal about it. But I could hardly see the double concave. It looked like a massive single concave with perhaps a small hump in the middle in the rear of the tailblock section technically producing a "double concave" but it really didn't look like much of a double. Sorry to get all hyper critical here but this is a huge feature of a surfboard. If I'm looking for a daily driver, or an intermediate shortboard, I want to know all about that double concave. If I want to consider my next best Hi-performance short board to try and style in front of my mates, then it's about that knifey rail and big single concave. And even though you took the time to make a point about the double concave and got the ruller out, I I can't actually really tell what is going on with the concave of this board from your video. just a very nerdy bit of feed back. Cheers bro!

The Phantom is easier to surf... it paddles better, it’s faster down the line with more glide, and it carves better. The I72 is sharper in the pocket, gets vertical quicker, and more radical for progressive surfing.

The Phantom paddles better, easy to surf, carries more speed and like to carve. The I72 offers more vertical pocket surfing and shreds waves like a HPSB but easier to surf due to it having less overall rocker. Also noticed stock dims are significantly thicker for the same amount of volume for comparable boards. When I felt one in the shop they felt like they were quite bulky in the middle rail section. Question is, should I order this board thicker than usual due to the design? I usually ride 2 3/8 thick 28-29L but stock is 2 1/2 28.8L so volume is right, but thickness seems too much?
