If you're a PC gamer you need to check out Lossless Scaling. Does the same as this. Completely max your game out on low resolution like 720p. Then upscale the game window to 4k. Easily max out all games with this $5 program.

I want either one but those units are expensive. Simple solution would be is to use a computer connected to a 4k screen. Then use a $20 "zero delay" capture card running OBS or windows video camera. Run the game system to the computer which gets displayed to the 4k TV. And top it off with a filter from either OBS studio or Lossless Scaling.

A point well made. My view is there is something to be said for both options: purchasing a plugin/ application outright, & buying a service on a need basis only. To clarify, when customers purchase a Topaz Lab product they own it; they just need to pay upgrade fees when their computer running system is upgraded.

Very interesting video! The problem is your original footage looks good to start with... A really good test of the software would be to enhance an old Mac Sennett movie or a Laurel & Hardy film. If it can clean these up, then you would have a real winner.

Fair enough, I want to point out that youtube's compression and watching this video in 1080p also makes it hard to see the difference between input and output, I will keep that in mind for future videos, till then I hope the comparison and the takeaways I shared are helpful 😊

in the video I noticed you used Artemis medium quality in VEAI and the results were about the same as what Pixop did. so does that mean that if you had used Gaia HQ then your results would have been better than Pixop? When i am upscaling videos from 1080p to 4K I usually use Gaia HQ because it gives great results but takes forever to process using my RTX 2070 Super. Is it possible to get the same results as Gaia HQ using Pixop or is Artemis Medium Quality about as good as it can do? I'm asking because I would rather pay a small fee and have someone else stress their GPU for 15hrs straight instead of me stressing my GPU for 15hrs straight lol.

    - IF was forced to choose, it would clearly be Video Enhance AI but there is cheaper if not 100% free options Vidia Enhance AI may be behind but PIXOPs pricing structure can easily turn into $1000+ of dollars real fast because of the whole "pay per minute model" which looks "affordable" at a quick glace/though, but you realize that the pricing model shit adds up insanely quickly. Mainly because I would assume most people who are already, just getting into, or are tempting to get into this "scene", are usually because of nostalgia and the drive/desires to reviving and breathing new life into all their favorite moves, tv shows, series, etc) from their past by turning them old blurry messes into clean 1080P-4K image/video. In that lens, the amount of hours can be a few hours to fuckin thousands of hours of content. Now, Do that with PIXOP and hypothetically to Upscale 500 hours through there service. The sheer amount of money PIXOP would charge would easily be (off the top of my head), in the $5000+ range. - By that single preface alone, Everyone would be better off, no question, to go crazy and buy a Dedicated $5000+ PC with top of the line components, multiple GPU's, etc) which would still be cheaper and free past a certain point if you don't include the tiny bit extra of electricity it would cost to run the PC. You also wouldnt even need spend $5K on a PC for fast and amazing results but it was to make a point. On top of it all, that PC is now youres, its tangible, it will be doing your bidding 5-10 years into the future, and can be used for literally everything you can imagine at the absolute highest performance. The Highest Quality of Gaming Experience, A Record Breaking Beast of a Workstation PC for Video Editing, Production, Compositing, VFX, 3D software, Simulations, Game Development, etc); - To stay on topic, No contrarians in terms of It's capability for using it in all the other existing and up coming methods of AI based training models and methods for using AI and Deep Learning for Art, 3D Models, Deep Fakes, Simulations, etc). Again, just to re-iterate the comparison, You'd would have your own Absolute Beast of a personal PC that is powerful enough be in the Top %0.00000001 of Home PCs. Giving you Every choice to do Anything you want at the highest levels of Performance. Or you could just have the One service built on a business model that uses misleading psychological tactics against its users made to siphons money out of their pockets slowly over time. Its a business model which is proven to work and its why many other companies with similar services do the same shit. - Im sure People understand what I mean, yeah? I can surely see the practical use of PIXOP for the extremely rare case for users and scenarios. On a side note, people would be surprised what a mid level $1000-1500 PC is capable of these days based off what ive seen from others claims in forums and my own experiences. But seriously, if anybody is into playing around with AI and Up-Scaling in particular, it may seem overwhelming or scary to learn about and I understand. But Its honestly not very difficult to get into if you spend just a little bit of time with the intent of learning a couple things (just like anything in life) you can be doing this shit in no time. Its not like your the crazy coders and engineers creating all the software behind all the tech, you are simply just learning how to use those tools that are already made. You dont even need a crazy PC to do some good Up-scaling or AI generation... Example: I used my older secondary PC dedicated for streaming, rendering, and AI Training that does pretty well while I save up to upgrade. Just last month I Up-scaled the original Ghost In The Shell Movie to a nice sharp 4K image it took Less than a night to do on a PC. But I also went EXTRA EXTRA and Did some Visual Compositing to it as well with NUKE. I did some Color Grading, Some Denoising, Sharpening, Light Balancing, added some FX like lens flares, light streaks, camera shakes, etc) all to add my own flare and what I thought would make the experience better to rival newer productions. Some Would call it Blasphemy at that extent. Dont care. It fucking SLAPS now. I also Re-Mixed and Re-Mastered all the Original Audio from each of 6 Tracks of 5.1 Surround Sound and completely brought the AUdio into the 21st century as well. Im proud of it and it looks 20 years newer. All on a midrange PC. My Next Project is a toss up of WICKED CITY, AKIRA, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Fit of the North Star, but I have a massive list of Movies Im going Revive for the Generations before me that cant appreciate anything less than 1080;, and not just "Anime...: I did the Composting FX Audio Work on my Current Mid-High End PC but the upscaling was all the older PC PC Specs for the Upscaling: 4790K - CPU 64GB DDR3 - RAM GTX 1080TI - GPU

I own a set of DVDs of Boys Over Flowers with the original soundtrack that I bought on Ebay. The K-Drama is about 20 hours long. I bought a copy because the online versions (Netflix, Viki, Hulu, and Amazon Prime) don't include the OST, which is half of what made it such an iconic K-Drama. And the replacement soundtrack is just awful. The problem is that the picture quality of my set is somewhere between DVD and VHS. This is because it's a pirated copy. Uff, that is a LOT of artefacts and jittering. Especially around people and moving objects. And where is the comparison to video enhance? I thought this video is supposed to be video enhance vs pixop?

This is a scam. What you did was to use a 4k video, downgrade the quality no then upscale it…..maybe the audience wouldn’t notice the difference, but I can tell….shame on you!!!

Hi there, like mentioned in the description, the clips I used in this video were all downloaded in low resolution, and then upscaled with pixop, I invite you to try it for yourself if you have doubts about the product, I spend so much time and effort on testing products and making videos so I'd appreciate it if you do some research before you make such accusations, cheers!

that means topaz might be a better option for you, if you upscale frequently
