The dialogue with Ramona complaining about "No ups and no downs" in bed with Sgt. Harper was utterly hilarious! Great clip and thanks for posting this section.
Gaston et Calvet. Still a better love story than Twilight.

Took the words right out of their mouths!
I really wish Gaston and Calvet had been in more films. Those guys are my faves in the entire series, even if they're on screen for such a short time!

VonMudra I read that after the wars Calvet moved to the states rather than live in France. I’m thinking one where he and Gaston have a new adventure
"Really? Personally I'd rather call for the Surgeon and have him cut off my Goddamned foot with a saw. Dismissed." I love Wellington's humor sometime lol.

What a Savage
2:15 "Gaston! Gaston!" Oh, what a larf...
when the french general pushed the mushrooms at the other guy, I thought of Dumbledore and his lemon drops.
Journal of Major Pyecroft Woke at dawn, had a fine morning of brooding. 8.30 Gypsy family hunted to death. No sign of rain. 9.40 Swallow carrying a coconut; may have been African. Snake fritters for lunch. Slight breeze this afternoon, should have brought my overcoat.
Soooooo many actors got their start on this series. Thank God for youtube which allowed me to watch this excellent series.
I absolutely love Gaston and General Calvert , they make the most of the episode.
I'm glad they did the Gaston/Calvet bit, it adds character without undermining authority and realism. It also reminds us that war is stupid and in that case, both sides were people and good ones.
The french General and his Corporal are awesome.
The beginning of this part has to be the funniest bit of Sharpe I've seen yet... first the reaction to Wordsworth being a poet, then the conversation with Ramona... ahahahaa poor man XD
Oh, Lord. Confiding in Sean Bean about bedroom problems. Pretty much sets a new bar for "awkward". Heh.
Some of the expressions and reactions Sean Bean pulls in this series are priceless lol
Yeah, they're hilarious. I'm glad they're in more than one episode
For all of those who are surely wondering: exploring officers of that Age rode in full uniform so that, in the case they were captured, they couldn't be accused of spying (a capital crime, even if pretty much every nation used spies) and could give their parole.
lol "have you done anything heroic?" "I'm afraid not Mr. Shillington." Sharpe's humble?
Word too the wise. When in France.. Don't walk under windows in the morning...
Sharpe: saved Arthur Wellesley's life, took the Imperial Eagle of France, lead the battle at Waterloo, is afraid of his sergeant major's wife.
2:22, Gaston is a legend! =D
LOL...Wellington's disdain of poets: "Really? Personally I'd rather go to the surgeon and have him cut off my foot with a saw."
I smell a new damsel in distress for Sharpe to save and ravage >:)
Calvet's mushroom parties look like great fun. I'd join the French army if that's what you do.
“You know what I’d like to do to her?” The look on Ramona’s face says it all… 😱
@DiVeronica The intro was a flashback to that previous field assignment with Brand. Now we've returned to the present (1813) when Sharpe is a major.
"Why me sir?" Cause you know how to hurt him" LOL
love calvet awesome guy
Gastogne and Calvet..... the best!
OMG ITS BATMAN!!!, oh damn, its just Major Pyecroft
Noo meee no ups no downs... steady on!! lol
OH^_^! A Mysterious Masked Man!!!!! COOL!!!!X)
in the intro it said sharpe was a captain but wellington refers to him as a major.

It was a flashback
@GeneralHentai damn right!! Love it :)
Sharpe- “That is how you spell missionn isn’t it” Jane- 🙈
Ramona:..... "No ups, No downs" ha ha ha ha
5:52 Couldn't have said it better myself!
In the south it is very rocky, and dry. So I guess you could classify that as a desert.
ITS THE DARK KNIGHT! BATMAN!
Yeah, one can get an impression of him by watching Black Adder season 3 last episode.
@GeneralHentai have to agree lmao. . . . 2:06 is classic hahaha
@ 1:12 "that gypsie girl? you know what I'd like to do to her?" *wrings laundry* I wonder if she's actually practicing how she'll wring the woman's neck with that gesture..
ahhh iv'e neem wondering where romona got too
1:19 i like the music
@BlackCat821 It's probably snuff, a form of tobacco that is ground fine enough to be taken by inhaling through the nose.
no, he's rank is said to be Major-General in part 8
fair enough
@brianluk2006 they were a tv series there was about 3 episodes a year
7:12 Nice ADR.
Those two guys at 2:30 are funny. :)
that's faaaaar below the belt well not too far, but at least a very nasty pinch
Duke of Wellington vs Duke of Marlborough... who wins?
At 0:14... Poor Sharpey lol.
I wonder if that is supposed to be the same general Ross who commanded the British/Canadians during the capture of Washington D.C.
snuff
so, you knew him well then?
^ ^ I think so ^ ^ 3q
@MissTrollQueen u mean her?
Is there a single scene where somebody comes to see Calvet and he isn’t eating?
@DonPatrono

as Calvet said to Ducos, "I have soup with every meal, because I remember the times when I had no soup"
so is there a reason we have at least 4 different spy master characters that are essentially the same guy?

Casting. I believe the first one left because of filming conditions and one of the other ones left for budgetary reasons
@SLRL1A1 i fell of my house lauging at you

They're technically tv programs, but the episodes are like 2 hours long and are released a few times a year.
